None of these rankings mean much unless you count transfers and jucos. Most recruits signed after the early period from now on will be transfers, and those experienced players can changed the true value of a reecruiting class much. I love seeing Auburn low down at 38, but I'll guarantee you Pearl pulls in a bunch of good transfers as he did this year. Penny Hardaway pulled in two top 5 recruits reclassified last August. The whole recruiting game has changed so much that it's hard to rank anybody until maybe the new season starts and we see who's in and who's out.

This.

Four of Auburn’s starters are newcomers.

Jabari Smith (5*), Walker Kessler (transfer), Zep Jasper (transfer), KD Johnson (transfer).

Then you have Wendell Green (transfer) off the bench.

Somewhat true but "doesn't mean much" is a stretch. Arkansas, Alabama, UK, and LSU are all bringing in elite high school talent, regardless of what happens with transfers

I love how Cal used to say "I'll take any recruit from your state I want any time I want" when he was coaching and recruiting against the likes of Mike Anderson and Johhny Jones and Avery Johnson as his toughest competition in the league...

His tune changed real quick when the SEC got some actual coaches.

Well in fairness Shaedon Sharpe isn't counting in the '22 class because he enrolled early. If he was, UK has the #1 class I believe.

Do Arkansas and Alabama lose a lot after this season? I genuinely don't know.

Jordan Walsh should be really good. Definitely a guy Texas was courting until the very end.

Well he had the #1 class until Shaedon Sharpe enrolled early. Sharpe was the number one recruit in the country.

Hard to say with guys who have the covid year option. Out of our current 8 man rotation we will lose 3 for sure. Our best players at the moment (Williams and Notae) have the option to return. I'd be surprised if Williams didn't return. Notae I have no clue.

For basketball, 3 is already a good amount. So 4 or 5 would be a pretty large turnover. Thanks for the info

We've got 5 freshman coming in, 2 of which are probably 1-and-dones, and we don't sub a lot, so losing 3 mid-tier players wouldn't be too bad for us.

Absolutely crucial for Williams to come back though. We don't have depth there.

Yeah now he just takes them straight off your team after a year or two in college

I feel you there. But still, you've got to fill in vacant roles with new bodies if they're leaving.

Musselman has things in the right direction for sure.

Texas is the same way. Nobody on the team is close to a first round draft pick, and maybe one guy is a second rounder, but a lot of guys might leave since they're seniors (pending the covid year). Texas doesn't have a true PG, so two of the incoming freshmen will be crucial (assuming none of the 3 guys committed choose G league instead, but I don't think that will happen)
