Apparently he has accepted a 2yr deal deal to be the Canes' secondary coach.

Easier?

Doesnt have to do things kirby or muschamps way?

UGA was only a stepping stone for him.

But its the same job at a lesser school talent wise. I'd argue it's a step back. His last 3 jobs have been the same title, right? Usually a stepping stone leads to a promotion.

This is an absolute step down. Not sure why he left as it appears we didn't even counter?

According to the other board, he and Kirby didn't gel very well. Kirby and Muschamp were very hands on with the DB and he felt micromanaged

When he gets the promotion, it will list the head coaches that he worked for and it will include kirby.

This sounds more like it. Miami is definitely a step down from the UGA position.

Without knowing anything about it I would guess that has a lot to do with it. Georgia can certainly meet any salary offer by Miami. Miami is trying to get back to the glory days of Jimmy Johnson, a large task.

I can't begin to name the coaches at Miami since Jimmy Johnson left.

I get the impression that if you don't like to be micromanaged, UGA is not the place for you.

There’s micro-managing and then there’s someone who can see deficiencies you cannot. I’m not mad at Kirby for dotting every I and crossing every T

If we didn't counter that means there's a better option on the table.

That's how I'd interpret this.

Me either, but he is damn sure a detail guy. Some folks can't handle that.

I havent read anything to say that we didnt counter.

It makes sense that we didnt match any offer, though.

Doesn't Saban carry the reputation for not overlooking anything along with micro-managing his coaches?

I suspect that is where Kirby learned it.

So does Muschamp slide into that role?

GTP today showing tweets where we may be going after Auburn's DB coach - Zac Ethridge.

He has a working history with Boom, apparently.

I've noticed that Kirby was much less involved with the offense last season. It appears Monken won him over.
