You are the one advocating for the mess. Reasonable people are trying to tell you that you don’t hire quality football coaches in March but yet you insist on doing so. Firing a guy without cause just because YOU don’t like him is equally retarded but you are absolutely convinced it’s going to fix recruiting and winning. It’s not going to fix coaching turnover either when you fire the bum in 3 years. You have a very narrow and reactionary view to big time college football coaching. You want to go nuclear on the program because we signed the number 18 class in the country.

Furthermore we appear to have boosters and beat writers just as reactionary as you or they wouldn’t be out here spreading gossip and printing dumbass articles like firing is imminent when they really don’t know anything apparently

Theoretically I think we could land a Jeff Geimes or Freeze in February.

They would be upgrades to Harsin

Because they threw a bunch of shite at the wall, hoping something would stick. It was a witch hunt. Now it seems that they've completely cut him off at the knees but are stuck with him. One day, some of you will realize Harsin isn't what's wrong with the program.

His wife posted the Auburn creed on her Instagram story.

Could mean she is calling them hypocritical or it could mean they’re staying.

It’s not just 18m, you also have assistant coaches to buy out.

Which assistants? Already Paying Bobo, Mason left. Their maybe a couple that need to be paid, but certainly not huge contracts.

I do not believe any other assistant got more than a 1 year deal. Boise Boys may be owed nothing. I do not believe that Schmedding Contract has been signed or even agreed to.

The price of lumber, yella man should be able to do this himself

Why would he, you assume he is the person wanting this. That is a lot of money just for football, do you see any buildings with Yella Fella's name on it???

FROM PAM (Yes he is a mouthpiece). -I am a little puzzled about the so-called “powers that be” and the power they supposedly have. The people who I suppose are in that group wanted Kevin Steele and got Bryan Harsin. They wanted an Auburn person as athletics director and got Allen Greene. They wanted Kirby Smart and got Malzahn. They wanted to fire Malzahn in 2018, but he stayed. They accepted Gene Chizik, but he was not their first choice. They wanted Bobby Petrino to replace Tuberville in 2003, but Tuberville stayed. To have so much power, their record isn’t very good.

No shite. None of any of this or previous meddling should have seen the light of day and Auburn rep was further tarnished each time.

Unless they always have got what they wanted but won't admit it? Who would after reading that? At least we had 2004 and 2010

Best case scenario is there is a sit down where it’s explained to him that if he wants to remain at AU long term certain things are non negotiable. He has to make appearances, he has to get onboard with NIL whether he agrees with it or not. He needs someone to tell him he’s no longer at Boise State. This is big boy football in a big boy conference and he needs to adjust accordingly. I suspect now that this shitshow has unfolded he now has a very clear picture of the fish bowl he’s now swimming in.

The bigger issue is that the auburn administration, beat writers, and boosters have already gone nuclear.

This week long saga of rumors and running Harsin into the ground only sets him up as a lame duck coaching staff set for failure.

You think this administration will agree to longer contracts with the current guys?

What about the incoming OC?

Good luck convincing recruits to come to your school amidst this instability and uncertainty.

Also, you think this will prevent guys from looking for an out for another job?

We will spend next year hearing about folks interviewing other places while the season is ongoing.

The damage is done. Rip the band-aid off. These beat writers should air out everything to bring the house of cards down - the boosters/admin need to be outed

Damaging Harsin was the goal and to force the school into a no win situation but one where retaining Harsin would be just as detrimental as keeping him.

They succeeded in my opinion. I just don’t see how Harsin can remain now. It’s a major mess.

Thinking about it you're probably right, I tend to have a knee jerk reaction. I really don't know what to think or believe at this point. I do know our candidate pool for head coaches and assistants alike is scarce. If we fire him I'd like to hear Matt Rhule and Brian Flores are getting interviewed. But both of them command more respect than the PTB are willing to give, so those 2 aren't options
