I don’t know if Lane would be a good “fit” here like he is at OM. But there’s no doubt the dude can coach and recruit. I’d be happy to have him.

We finished higher ranked than Ole Miss did in recruiting and they won 10 games, I think our "fans" would be pissed at his recruiting just like they are Harsin.

I am in. He understands you don't need them on payroll to sleep with them.

I was never opposed to hiring Kiffin. I thought the way he left UTee was shitty, but that was 12 years ago. I think Southern Cal screwed him over, and he’s a far better HC than he was then.

That said, I can’t imagine luring him away from Oxford short of giving him a ridiculous deal like LSU gave Kelly, and I don’t think that would be a good ROI.

My opinion is this, if the boosters are so hot and bothered to get Harsin out, they need to pony up the money to bring a guy like Lane in to take the job or they have just set us back even more.

Even at our low, we are a better program than Ole Miss.

If we could somehow be guaranteed to land Kiffin, we should fire Harsin in a second. My only fear is that when we fire Harsin we get someone worse, but Kiffin is a clear upgrade

Harsin got totally screwed over and the media spin on blaming him is the only thing working right now. Once we fire him the national sports news is going to turn us like crazy.

It's according to what he gets fired for. If Auburn goes with player abuse with players corroborating the media won't touch it.

Anyway. If Auburn fires Harsin for cause they will have a shite ton of money to get the Lane train pointed in this direction.

Meh as long as the next coach wins games we will be fine from the media perspective. My only concern is finding a coach who can win in the middle of march
