One of the things I really appreciate about SBIV is his ability to ...

learn and improve. He keeps getting better. A good example was his TD pass to Bowers in the 4th quarter of the NC game. Last year that pass gets batted down. This year, he finesses it quickly over Battle for a perfect strike and Bowers does the rest.
Bennett learns and improves. He got better running the ball this year as well, knowing when it was the right time to take off if things go bad.
Oh, and Battle hit Bennett in the head intentionally on that TD pass.

This was a much more difficult play than many realize.
Bennett still has weaknesses, but yes. He improved from last year, and improved this year as the season went along.
He still can make some head scratching decisions. he can still throw the ball up for grabs more than he should. (Although less this year than last) But he can also put a pass in a very tight window sometimes.
Is he ideal? far from it. But without him we would not have won the title this year. I feel very confident that Carson beck would not have done what Bennet did.

He had no reps with the starters in either preseason. He has start 17-18 games.
I watched the full season highlights tonight and he put on a clinic.
Also watched Top Billins comparison to Fields NC game last year, fields had 3 first round wrs and amazing supporting cast and had a horrible output compared to Benetts.

Some on this board fail to realize how good Bennett is/was this past season. Or, I should say they refuse to see it. He doesn't have the strongest arm, although it is strong enough. He makes head scratching decisions and puts the ball at risk at times. But those are really few ans far between. He is a very solid QB.
His biggest fault? He was not rated a 5* by the services. If you drill down you find that is what many of our "fans" hold against him.

I disagree there. I have one main complaint about him I've had for 2 years now. And no it's not turnovers, all QBs throw picks. It's not his height, or decision making, or his arm strength, or his star rating.
The biggest thing that I gripe abotu stetson on is how he RARELY throws a deep ball perfectly in stride that a receiver doesn't have to slow down or even stop for. He had a great one to mconkey against AU. He had several against UAB but I mean..UAB. Those are the only ones I can recall offhand. I can't count the number of times that Burton has had to slow down or adjust to catch a long one. Or in the case of pickens in the title game it was just overthrown, that's a TD if thrown correctly. But ultimately these are minor nitpicks since these balls are generally still completed. I think what's a little more irksome is that the exact opposite can be said for JT, who threw incredibly accurate deep balls.

Watch the season wide highlights and he hits a whole bunch of people instride or or almost, still scoring or making a long play.
Hell he is one of the best long ball guys in college.

He has improved immensely, imo. He should be surrounded by a lot of experience on the offensive side of the ball. It would not surprise me for him to make all conference next year, not necessarily first team, B Young is still playing.
What other QB in the conference, other than B Young, would you take over him? I acknowledge that B Young is a different player.

He is especially different when pressured.

You're obviously not speaking about the play where Pickens just stopped running at the moment Bennett threw a perfect throw over the DBs head. Bennett got that bogus Intentional Grounding call because of that.

If his only deficit is that he wasn't a 5 star out of high school, why isn't he declaring for the draft now? Especially being 3 years older than a typical college senior?

uhh...yeah, I obviously am not talking about that one. I'm talking abotu the diving grab pickens made on a ball that is a jog in TD if thrown better.

I'll be your huckleberry and burn your little straw man in effigy. Just how many NFL teams play in the NCAA? Nairn, which is exactly how much bearing that argument has on the subject. To break it down to your level. Apples are compared to apples and oranges to oranges.

I can cite posts from the Old Men's Stet Club stating:
- He's one the best long ball QBs in the game
- He was at least as deserving of the Heisman as Bryce Young
- He is arguably better than Young because of the head-to-head title game stat lines
And so on and so on...
Yet...no answer to: WHY HAS BENNETT NOT DECLARED FOR THE DRAFT AT ALMOST 25 AND A SUPER SENIOR? (Given his incredible talents as described by his fan club)

You forgot to mention in your racism that he’s white. Oh never mind

Again, probably because draft stock or complete lack of draft stock has no bearing on what he has already accomplished in college. Absolutely not one iota. Never heard of a player throwing his NC ring away either because he was drafted or because he wasn't. There are a heck of a lot of just first round busts alone in the NFL, but it doesn't detract from their success in the NCAA. Apples. Apples: Oranges. Oranges.

Pickens at 100% might have been a step faster and caught the ball in stride. Now you're blaming Bennett for the Pickens injury.
"Racist white boy deliberately injures black player to affect his draft chances!" Call the media!

I think one of the things Stetson improved on this year was throwing the bomb. JT Daniels also struggled with under-throwing receivers last year and I thought he was starting to improve with that this year as well.
But I thought Stetson showed some real improvement in the long bomb from last year. He still has a ways to go, but given his steady improvement in all parts of his game, this is one reason why I'm excited to see him come back. An entire off-season with Bennett working with the #1s should really help with his timing.
Wish Burton would stay, but he'll still have some weapons at WR and be able to work with them all summer.

This is by far the funniest shite I’ve seen on this page.. maybe the bears should draft Bennett in the first round this year… I’m sure that will solve all their problems
And how did Bennett do against that same Alabama team last year?

Because the gold standard from the cünt nation was winning Natty’s. Fromm being an OT pass away was not good enough… then, when Fields got the shite kicked out of him in the Natty, the standard shifted to his pro ability. Not the fact that he played very poorly with a stacked team. Then, Bennett wins the Natty this year. Leading a comeback in the 4th quarter… going against everything the cünt nation preached he couldn’t do… and now, y’all just can’t reconcile that you were dead fricking wrong… not only dead fricking wrong, but you hate that Stetson proved you wrong so much, that you still try to find some way to shite on him. Why are you a fan? What are you getting out of this? If you want to move away from the force of the cünt, it starts with some introspection. If you are in this to find someone to shite on, which it appears, then don’t get snooty when you are called out on it…. This is why we fight.

I’m not shitting on the guy but y’all are acting like he’s the greatest thing since sliced bread. Yes he is a good college quarterback but this retard comparing 2 completely different teams to a completely different Alabama team in a completely different NC game is hilarious. Alabama beat the crap out of us and Ohio St last year and it wasn’t even close I just can’t figure out his point he’s trying to make.
And you can go back and look at my posts I’ve admitted I was wrong about UGA not being able to beat Bama with him…
