People don’t wanna hear it but Golding is getting better

I’ve seen noticeable improvement. People forget he is a young guy still learning. I can see the improvement. I genuinely think we need to hold on to him as DC and he will be an elite coordinator
Now BOB on the other hand can GTFO

Let's see how the defense looks 3 games in next year, and then make the call.

No hate with Golding anymore. He's done a good job developing these guys over the season. We should have a great defense next year.

I WANT to hear it. I also want to believe it.
But, I don't.

Probably not good. But this is 2 straight years he has figured it out at the end of the year and had us playing elite ball on that side.

I agree. Golding is growing into the job; he's improving.

The defense played their as of tonight and held UGA to 6 points to the 3rd Quarter. Was probably one of Golding’s best games and I think if the offense had close to normal production, it would’ve been a true championship performance. They had Bennett rattled early on but it was inevitable that the damn was going to break.

The dam appeared to break because we had no playmakers besides the QB left. If we could've gotten just a bit more offensive production we win. Our defense was solid all game.

I love admitting it - but I was never a excessively vocal hater.
He seems like he wants to stick with Saban for the time being and can provide stability

Yep. We didn’t have a single guy on that field who could take it to the house from a given point. We had some guys with heart, but no gamebreakers. When you’re playing against an elite defense like that, you have no room for error. That’s why it’s silly to see Herbstreit and other ESPN talking heads act like UGA made this big turnaround from the first game. They tweaked some things but two 1,000 yard WRs going down made their job a lot easier.
When we’ve beaten Bennett before, he made plays because he is a gamer but he eventually cracked because he had to play keep up with our offense. That didn’t happen tonight. That whole game was right in UGA’s comfort zone.

Everything you said and still coulda qin with a few people reeling in some catches

Golding called the defense fine tonight for the most part. He's not to blame for that corner play when we're out Moore, JAD, Jobe.
Honestly, the first game was much worse for us on defense. Much more struggles with movement, run game was more consistent, and Bowers had 139 yards.

With what is returning I'm going to need his unit to be elite starting in game 1 and without 2-3 absolute disasters before I completely get on board.
But he did good work with this group the 2nd half of the season.

Yep. Pretty remarkable. I expected UGA to breakthrough earlier than they did.

I had zero problems with coordinators last night. You can only do what the players you have available allow you to do. This OL couldn’t not establish the run the first game and didn’t really try. Bryce made some amazing throws and they were dropped in crucial situations. Bryce also made a coupe of very poor throws that stopped TDs. That’s not on the coordinators.

Only issue I had is with Bob. Moved the ball down the field but we'd get to a certain point and get away from the plays that got us there.

BOB was awful. He kept running these swing passes and bubble screens designed for Jameson that obviously none of our other guys had speed for

I thought BoB did about all he could do last night once the center of our gameplan limped off the field. There weren't many options and when we dialed up the right ones guys didn't catch the ball.
But whatever.
But whatever.

For years people have joked that Bama could play their second string and win a title. Last night proved that isn't true. And that's all it proved.
