Any word on Sahvir Wheeler's status? And how does someone get hurt on that screen?

Was it a hard screen? Sure. But nothing abnormal. I still can't figure out how Sahvir injured himself on this screen.

Jay bilas sucked off UK so damn much during that game. At the end it was virtually no credit to LSU for winning. It was insane.

However, it’s sucks that UK was without out some of their best players. The sec is very good at basketball this year and I can’t wait to watch it.

When you are going full speed and nobody calls out a screen from a big body that collision can be rough.

My perspective is a little different. I was expecting a lot worse from Bilas. He actually praised LSU a little bit so him giving UK faltio did seem so bad to me.

Right. I guess Wheeler received the concussion simply because his brain was moving forward and his head was moving backward at that one instant and caused a brain bruise (which is a concussion).

Yea that would make sense. Those seem to happen a lot more when a guy has absolutely no idea the collision is coming. I assume it has to do with you being able to even subconsciously brace yourself a little bit when you have even a tiny bit of notice vs total loose body/muscles when you have no clue.

When a small object runs into a large object and then hits the floor the small object can sometimes break.

I think this might be a good illustration of what happened even though Wheeler's head did not make contact with Reid:

Haven't heard anything definite on his status that I know of. Just one of them plays when it catches you off guard with no time to brace yourself, that whiplash can do damage

Been a while since I've seen a basketball player look that dazed and confused

That neck flop looks painful.

Right.

I hope he gets better soon. I hate seeing injuries but these head injuries are the worse, IMO.

The GIF cuts off, but did his head hit the floor? Seems like it’s headed in that direction.

Also, whiplash can mess you up.

Thats the thing though. He isn’t going close to real speed. He is basically barely shuffling into the screen

It looks to me be tried to flop and hurt his neck. The other angle shows his head never hits the court so it isn’t that either

That's whiplash, man. He ran into a bigger guy.

Kentucky fans were crying on Twitter last night about how LSU only won because him and Washington were hurt.

One guy knocked out on a pick and one with cramps.

Bring your hard hat next time you come to the PMAC, LSU won because Kentucky is soft.

Blame the other UK players for not calling out the screen.

ETA: Apparently it didn’t hit the floor.

He could’ve definitely ended up with a concussion from the neck movement.

I had no problems with the commentary last night, thought they were very fair. Kentucky basketball is Kentucky basketball and the narrative when they play is usually going to be directed more towards them. They have earned that distinction. A perfect example is the announcers last night brought up how much they were hampered last night by the injury to Wheeler (and rightfully so), whereas in the LSU-Auburn game, the announcers I don't think once mentioned the entire game that Brandon Murray (who leads LSU in minutes played) was out.
