Be real Who in who out and why?
Why would Clemson leave the ACC?
Would the SEC gain anything, market wise, by letting in Louisvill, Memphis or Miami?

There is no need to expand the SEC. It's a the perfect size now and adding additional teams would water-down the strength of the conference.

Did i miss something? Is hypothetical or real?
I don't see them expanding, why would they?

I wholeheartedly agree.
And even if you wanted to just replace a couple of teams, I still don't think that's a good idea.
You wouldn't be able to get one of the established programs to switch, so that just leaves C-USA and Sun Belt. I don't see that adding strength to the conference.

Out, Arky, and in Clemson. Clemson has more and better natural Rivalries with SEC teams than Arkansas does. Arkansas fits better with the Big 12, especially if Mizzou would go to the Big 10 where it is a better fit.

I'm all about SEC contraction back down to 10, eliminate the SEC Championship game, and play 9 conference games....
seems to work for the Pac-10....

UCF & USF would be worth a look...both in Top 10 of college enrollments...control the Tampa\Orlando area...

Who has better natural rivalries? Arkansas or Clemson?

I say GT should get preference over anyone else in the East.
In the West, we should gobble up WKU and help build their athletics program, just as a public service project for the Fightin' Kiges.

Been there, done that. GT was an original member and bailed, then tried to return but was denied. With Clemson you get great matchups with S.Car, UF and UGA. Plus a great fanbase that fits with the SEC. GT has a much better overall tradition(4 national champs), but I just don't feel they'd even think of coming even if asked due to past history.

I just feel that they would jump at coming if asked due to past history.
It's time for the Jackets to return home after their 40-year journey through the wilderness.

Arkansas and South Carolina, believe it or not, have weakened the SEC slightly. Each school has a losing record in the SEC since 1992, and neither has finished as the best team in its division (Arkansas has represented the West thrice; twice thanks to Alabama's probation, and once thanks to a touchdown literally being given to them in Little Rock in 2002).
But, if the SEC expanded, I'd like to see three teams added, with three five-team divisions (top two division winners meet in SECCG; third division winner automatically becomes SEC#2):
West: Arkansas, Louisiana State, Mississippi, Mississippi State, Tulane
Central: Alabama, Kentucky, Louisville, Tennessee, Vanderbilt
East: Auburn, Florida, Georgia, Georgia Tech, South Carolina
Scheduling: Play all four division opponents; two permanent rivals from the other divisions; all other opponents rotate.
Arkansas: South Carolina, Tennessee
Louisiana State: Florida, Kentucky
Mississippi: Georgia, Vanderbilt
Mississippi State: Alabama, Auburn
Tulane: Georgia Tech, Louisville
Alabama: Auburn, Mississippi State
Kentucky: Florida, Louisiana State
Louisville: South Carolina, Tulane
Tennessee: Georgia, Arkansas
Vanderbilt: Mississippi, Georgia Tech

South Carolina: Arkansas, Louisville

Memphis > Louisville
We don't need anymore Northern teams from Kentucky.
P.S. -- I like the way you think, though.
