The one thing I always bragged to my former XII brethren after we made the move to the promised land was that the SEC 's only rule if you wanted to leave was write a letter. That's how great it was to be in this league. Now this...

SEC getting ducks in a row for bigtime TV contract negotiations in the future.

Better to be prepared.

On behalf of the SEC member institutions, we will waive any such fees for Missouri.

Well sure. They're gonna come in and find out they're halfway down the totem pole and they're not going to like it and want to bolt. They can pay us all for the privilege to quit after we rough them up for a few years.

They have been prepping for the horns and sooners. They know these two might try to bolt after getting a taste of the SEC grind.

I’m betting that’s negotiable for the last four added.

This week’s Oprah show:

“Aggy, you get a free dismissal.
Ou/tex, you get a free dismissal.
Mizz, we’ll give you 100,000 to go to the big10.”

No one is leaving but $30 mil certainly isn't enough to stop them anyway.

Have to wonder how long the Texas and OU wheels were in motion.

It’s so the tu and BlowU bitches can’t quit when they go 5-7 or 6-6 in their first couple seasons.

Oh I get the Mizzou jokes, it's all good. We're still the new guys for another year or two (and will always be to some of you-same as Carolina and Arky).

But man, personal experience with the Horns.....you have no idea how big a deal it was for us to get away from decades with our Big 8 schools and you can pinpoint it all back to the actions of one school. No doubt in my mind this is a way to prep for their entry and what might go down with them in the fold.

Texas killed the Big 8 and Oklahoma was their accomplice. The Big 12 was a great idea. You should have taken Arkansas instead of Baylor or Texas Tech but these things happen. Regardless the Big 12 was a dynamic conference that was the peer of any other conference and well above most.

And then teams that had been the mainstay of the conference for decades started leaving the conference. Even if it cut their own throat recruiting wise... they did it.

Only A&M has done that after 2011. Like it or not, we'll be here to stay.

Yes. I believe this is to protect the TV contracts coming up. Adding these two outlaw programs from the big 12 probably warrants such by-laws.
