OT: Have a job on a Marine base

Have done a lot of work for Airforce, Army, and Navy plus other entities. First time on a Marine base. NAVFACS still runs the job, but the base dudes, Jesus Christ. My Grandfather was a Marine, but these dudes are not his kind. The NAVFAC guys call them Very Special Forces and joke they take the short bus into combat. Seems like you need to be 5’6” with career limiting tats to be on this base. Sad how far these guys have fallen.

Good guys, though.

Federal contracting is a nightmare.
We always have to funnels our
bids through 8A's to get the deals.

Yes. Yes it is. Played there more than a few times. One of my favorites, maybe topped by the one at NAS Pax River (personal opinion)

I am out here in Beaufort, retired from the Navy while I was stationed at MCAS Beaufort. The people coming into the Armed Forces aren't the same breed that I was stationed with. I blame social media and participation trophies. You find some good people here and there, but the Duty, Honor and Country mentality is few and far in between. If I had to go back into the fight, I would still pick the Marines to go with. As a Corpsman, you earned your title as "Doc" and best 10 years of my 20 were with USMC. When one gives you a hard time, ask him what is his favorite crayon color.
And yes, Parris Island's golf course is a hidden gem.

Love the area. Haven't been out there in a bit, though. Only pass through on the way to Charleston. Last time spent any time in there was when the Blues last came.

Bingo.
Corpsman, eh? Good on ya and thank you!
Loved that little Greek place across from the civilian hospital. Is that sandwhich shop - Alvin Ords - still there?

Not sure that criticizing a particular player or a particular coach is equivalent to criticizing the entire Marine Corps.
The "bait" would have been more valid if you were making snarky remarks about an individual Marine.
Also, coaches and players are kind of in the public domain like political figures or celebrities, so some criticism comes with the territory.

Athenia Gardens and Alvin Ords are still open. Beaufort is getting a 5 Guys and Chipolte where the movie theatre was.

I think it would help if you were to express your opinion to one of them. I'm sure he (or she) could change it for you.

It was all made up to show his hypocrisy and it worked. I get along great with the ones on this project. Good dudes.

I saw it. It was plain as day. It was like a green ilander over a ballyhoo. Not only the shortness comment, but the fact he had just outed himself as a marine on the Let's Get To Know Each Other Thread. It was so obvious. I too thought you overplayed it at first.
