He was my choice, but I can still hope Kelly has an IQ above room temperature, unlike our last two head coaches.

LSU can always get him down the line if they want, but your concern is noted.

Aranda is who I wanted from the beginning. Even wanted him promoted instead of hiring orgeron. Having said that, I’m very happy with Kelly.

He would have been a good pick IMO, but he is somewhat of an unknown with only a few seasons played, so I can't fault LSU too much.
But if for some reason it was down to those 2 for Alabama, I think I want Aranda.

Kelly or Aranda would probably both do better than 8-4 and 5th in the West in year 3. Especially in a down year for most of the SEC
