How overrated is Michigan?

Watching them last night it was apparent that Michigan was totally outmatched in every way, shape and form. Cincinnati was better, on defense at least, than Michigan was in any phase of the game. And it seems like ESPN seems to be downplaying our win and pumping up UGA. Not surprised at all. Oh and Aidan Hutchinson is the most overrated player I've seen all year. He was a non factor.

Ohio State is the only team in the B1G who has the talent to go toe to toe with anyone in the country. They don't always have the team capable of doing it, but they're the only program in that part of the country who has the potential. Too many inferior athletes. They look fine when they play each other or some mid-tier Pac-12 or ACC team, but when they play an upper echelon program they tend to look horrible.

Cincinnati would be an upper tier B1G team this year. I'm still trying to figure out how Ohio State lost to Michigan. I actually feel like the Michigan team that we beat in the Citrus Bowl two years ago was better than the one they fielded last night.

Thinking about, if I am being completely fair, for this year they really were only overrated by one. They are arguably the 3rd best team in the country but Bama and UGA are superior to everyone else. I think that if you lined Michigan up against any other team in the Top 10-15 team they win or keep it within a score outside of if Ohio State really has the offense cooking on any given day.
UGA was just a nightmare of a matchup for them. You have to be able to run between the tackles and throw vertically on UGA. UGA dominated the "best" Oline in the country, ran down all the little misdirection and got them going side to side and once that happened they didn't have the weapons to throw downfield.
However I think you look at any other team beyond UGA and Bama this year, they would have been fine on either side of the ball. Part of this was the need to push Aiden Hutchison as a 1st round pick deserving Heisman winner. I don't want to trash the guy cause he is a top 10 pick and he should have been six or seventh in the Heisman behind the other guys, Will Anderson and the back from MSU, but they really got invested in the idea that he is Michigan Bosa which he isn't. Some how he became a better Heisman candidate than Will and a better draft pick than Thibadeaux based off 2 games against an OSU Oline that was dominated by Oregon and a typical Kirk Ferentz Iowa team. It was ridiculous.
But I reality compared to the rest of college football after the top 2, Michigan is just as good as any of them.

Michigan was a typical B1G team. They were slow, unathletic and small looking compared to Georgia. It was similar to the BCS championship game against Notre Dame. Michigan lost before the game was kicked off. Georgia has recruited better athletes.

Good points Carlton
Only disagree here
I wouldn’t draft him in the first round

Ohio State defense was historically bad even worse than last year when Bama prison raped them.

Especially Michigan’s DBs looked slow, LBs no, but dbs yes.

In my opinion Cincy has a better team than Michigan .... faster on offense and a stronger defense... Michigan looked very slow overall... Cincy would probably beat them by two touchdowns!!!

Michigan's problem is that they aren't athletic at an elite level in the back end or at the skill positions on offense.
Georgia just sat within 8 yards of the LOS and had zero fear of the top being taken off. If you can't make a defense of elite athletes and fundamentals like Georgia have to defend the whole field you quite literally have no chance. They will not be fooled in the least by eye candy nonsense and you won't beat them to any spot throwing sideways passes.
And on defense, Georgia schemed them beautifully, and they couldn't get to the QB (which is how they slowed Ohio State).

The simple fact that the media put so much hype and national attention towards Hutchinson over Will Anderson is criminal in of itself. That BS and the awards being doled out completely exposed the media and these so called cfb experts.

Matchups my man... Michigan would have ran the ball all over Cincinnati.
Cincinnati probably would have scored some, but Michigan would have controlled that game.

It's incredibly corrupt and biased. Heck, I think that Dallas Turner is a better player than Hutchinson. Anderson put up twice the stats against far superior competition.

Michigan is a power run offense. They have to recruit to their strengths. They can't recruit high caliber skill position talent at wide receiver like Ohio State and Alabama. They just seemed slow and small to me. Remember that Michigan beat an eight loss Nebraska team by three.

Honestly, I think that th Michigan team that Alabama beat in the Citrus Bowl two years ago was better than the one that they fielded on Friday.

I do too. That team had more athletes wide for sure.
