I get that, but after Metch went down, they straight shut us down for the rest of the game, minus the one drive at the end, so there is cause for concern.

Metchie got hurt at the end of the first half. The very first drive of the second half, 'Bama comes out and scores a TD. And I'm sure these past few weeks have been plenty of time to figure out his replacement and gameplan around whatever UGA was doing differently defensively in the second half that they'll probably try again.

Been impressed with Brooks so far. Hope he has a big game.

I’ve said it 100 times but Brooks is a deep threat where Metchie isn’t. He is a true freshman for god sakes and the kid saved our arse against Auburn and drove a dagger into Cincy. Seeing as he can beat you deep, he is a crucial part of either A getting Williams open or B him getting open. I love Metchie, he is a dude but he’s gone.

Boz, I often like your opinions but you've certainly minimized Metchie's loss.
Hopefully one wr will step up but more importantly the Oline and defense will play lights out.

I think you will see a brilliant plan. They moved Jameson into the slot, a position he wasn't used to against Cincinnati, deciding Cincys corners were their strength and just took what the defense gave them. I don't think they were worried about the game and didn't want to give UGA anything to plan for. Conversly, I think Smart used the half back pass to give us something to plan for so our safeties can't crash the line.
I think this game goes the same way as the last. Don't turn the ball over, stop the run, make Bennett beat us and we win comfortably.

Anyone else see the interview with Bennett where he said this? It's on twitter. Interesting.
"Maybe I'm not capable of holding that weight on my shoulders, but no, I'm just treating it as a football game," Bennett told reporters Monday. "Do I know that means a lot to a lot of people? Yes. Am I trying to play some kind of savior by winning a national championship for millions of people? No.

I think we have a lot more difficulty in creating a sustained drive without Metchie if the run game struggles, he was a fantastic in his role.
I am hopeful Brooks can largely fill those shoes and be a force in moving the chains while Jameson gives us a deep play threat constantly, but it is somewhat of an unknown at this point.
Still think defense is going to be the most important side of the ball here.

This. I noticed that. I think we will be moving our receivers around. I expect Brooks to make key plays against Georgia.

That was a 55 yard bomb to Williams I think. My concern is that with all the time to prepare, Georgia will be able to create a smart gameplan to try and take away most of Jameson's deep bomb plays. Brooks and others will need to come up big, and consistently make plays to move the chains, for offense to be really successful IMO. They certainly have the talent to do that and Brooks has looked good thus far.

Picky, picky. It's an opinion typed in a a minute or two on a forecast thread on secrant.com stating what I think is likely to be a trend in a football game if one of the teams playing comes in with a good gameplan; not exactly the drafting of a new piece of legislation and also not intended as some sweeping statement about my confidence level or attitude (and, on that note, who gives a frick what some poster on a fan site's confidence level is?). But, yeah, let me clarify: I think we're likely to have a frustrating offensive performance if UGA does a good job implementing the type of blitzing that we've struggled with over-and-over this season, particularly as we've have seemed absolutely bewildered in the face of that kind of stuff, but it is possible that BOB will suddenly stop refusing all the usual blitz counters, that Bryce and the guys will just overcome it all even if BOB continues to with his shite, etc.

See the opening drive of second half and that's with B.Rob only at about 80%.We established the running game that possession which lead to the timely call of Williams over the top.
I think most analyst just conceded the running game because B.Rob was not 100 %. Also Even the 7 yard run by Sanders that was called back for holding on Seth was a good run created by our O-line. All this happened because we would not let them sub depth along there D-line in the first half.We made them take 99 off the field and even saw Dean take a few snaps off.
I think we will run with more success than most people think in this game and that buys Bryce a little more time for shots.Uga normally will blitz our right side more and you will see our backs break some nice gains behind Cohen,Neal and seth.
Mich game plan offensively was terrible as Todd Blackledge said they should have max protect and took more shots. The few they took saw there WR get behind Uga DB's with ease.Again Bill has shown he will take shots with other people like brooks and I expect to see a leary get behind a DB for a shot in this one.
But again dont sleep on our running game because we had some good runs in those second half drives.
Bryce and Bill will continue to spread them out taking people out the box, but dont be shocked if we strap it up more and test there run defense more than expected.

Not minimizing just pointing out their differences. Also pointing out the fact he is gone and we need to move on to his replacement who in my opinion is a better deep threat. Top end speed.

We scored 24 points in the first half (all in the 2nd Quarter so you could say that us shut us down in the 1st Quarter even with Metchie) and we scored a TD in the 3rd Quarter, drove to score a clinching FG, and were able to run some clock in between. UGA has a great defense and they made halftime adjustments but I'm not seeing where 'they straight shut us down for the rest of the game'...

Any new on Robbie Outz injury? That would give the run game a boost with this blocking.

I think we have to spread them out and make them defend horizontally as well as vertically and limit their substitution patterns with tempo. Brooks, Earle, Holden, etc got to pick up in Metchie’s absence, 3 combined need his catches and yards. Slade will get his 3-5 grabs and allow Jamo to blow the top off. A healthy BRob and Sanders will cause some issues for UGA as well.
