My current bottles (keep in mind that I just started my bourbon journey)

Early Times BIB 100 Proof 1 L bottle - This is a damn good bourbon for the price. It has some nice proof and caramel and oak char flavor so that I dig...I just wish it wasn't on allocation over here.

Elijah Craig Small Batch 92 Proof 750 mL bottle- I love the finish and darkness on this one. I also think it is a very good bourbon for the price point it is at.

Buffalo Trace Alabama ABC Store Barrell Pick 94 proof 750 mL bottle - This one has a smooth finish with lots of caramel and dark chocolate and leather, some floral notes as well like a prune maybe but not a bite hardly at all...very smooth and a long finish. I like it..again wish it wasn't on allocation.

Evan Williams White Label BIB 100 Proof 750 mL bottle - Haven't opened this bottle yet but I'm excited too...

Larceny Small Batch 92 Proof 1 L bottle - I decided to try a wheated bourbon as well. I drove to the 7th Ave Store downtown to get the 1 L bottle since CL was out of the 750 mL bottle. I've taken a small pour out of this one and oooohhh man it is smooth as the day is long...a lot of roasted peanut flavor and oakiness..I really like it. Great value for the money and the 1 L bottle is only a dollar more than the 750 mL bottle here.

Four Roses Small Batch is amazing. If you can get your hands on some treat yourself.

I can get it from the Class Six stores on military bases for like $45. My local liquor store has it North of $60.

The store by work has a couple FR Single Barrels for $50 and the FR Small Batch Select for $65

Thats my favorite sipping bourbon.

Favorites - Basil Hayden, Eagle Rare, and if you're looking for a surprisingly good bargain bourbon Henry McKenna is fantastic.

My cheaper every-day bourbon is Elijah Craig.

If I want something nicer, it's Blanton's or Woodford Reserve.

Eagle Rare was my go to easy to buy back in the day but now it is Basil Hayden or Woodford Reserve. The father of my son's girlfriend owns four liquor stores in the area and hooks me up with bourbon. Texted me out of the blue a couple of weeks ago asking if I wanted a bottle of Blantons and Stagg Jr. Yes, please!

Agreed….Elijah Craig is hard to beat. Also… try some good ‘ol Tennessee sippin’ Whiskey. Good stuff on a cold winter day.

Nashville can be a hard market but doesn’t sound like it’s anywhere near as bad as Alabama.

One that I’ve enjoyed recently:

Guilty pleasure:

Watching Kevin Costner drink Bulleit on Yellowstone got me curious so I bought some.

It is very good and super smooth.

Old Grandad 114 is great for the price.
I really like 1920 and 1910.
And I like the spice in 4 Roses.

I happen to have an unopened bottle of ETL the death bottle and I’ve seen that priced as high as 1200 which is stupid.

Costco very often has Eagle Rare. The last 4 bottles I’ve gotten have been from one of their stores.

Which ABC did you go to Saturday? I was at the one in Lakeview. I barely missed the Blantlon's. Got stuck with Eagle Rare and Buffalo Trace.

And how did you get it on Friday? You must be a frequent customer at a certain store.

The one I went to in Dec was Crestwood...I started to in Jan but didn't go to any and should've gone back to Crestwood, on the list there were only 5 diff bottles and the drop they actually got was 9 or 10 diff bottles lol.

Actually no, it was my first time and a customer of mine tipped me to a awesome shop in Huffman right across from Huffman HS called Villa Spirits. He stays stocked with ER, BTac, Blantons, Bookers, and other harder to find bottles.
