He won't survive in the SEC it's too cutthroat. 3 years max with 2 of them being dead last in the West.
Look on the bright side, once OU and Texas start up you won't be dead last anymore.

That's the dumbest shite a bama fan has said in a while.

So - In your opinion are Les Miles and Coach O better football coaches than Kelly?
Given the opportunity, would either Miles or O have become the winningest football coach in Notre Dame history?

Yet two coaches with special needs can survive the SEC "cutthroat"?

Faust was a high school coach before becoming HC at N.D. There are trolls & then there are dumb-as-shite trolls.

True. LSU won't be able to afford to fire him.

Really? ND literally hired a high school coach as their head coach. I'm speechless.

Les Miles backed into a National Title with 2 losses during an era in which Alabama was losing to the likes of Louisiana-Monroe. He was the beneficiary of being in the right job at the right time. But that LSU team was not really that good relative to other National Title teams.... losses to TWO 8-5 opponents. When is the last time a National Champ had 2 losses to 5-loss teams? Has it ever happened before?
Ed O had a great team in 2019, no doubt. But you can credit that mostly to having an incredible staff (Brady, Aranda, etc.) coupled with a fantastic transfer QB. It was a perfect situation that resulted in a title, but it was obvious at the time it was not going to be long-lasting. It was a one-year success story (like AU in 2010) that would likely not be repeated.
Could Brian Kelly luck into a title or hit that perfect storm? Absolutely. But its harder to do that now in an improved SEC where all programs are swimming in cash. Ole Miss, Arkansas, and Mississippi State have even upgraded themselves. And Texas A&M is recruiting at a very high level. You can't luck your way to the top of the West nowadays.
I expect Brian Kelly to have success at LSU. If Saban starts declining due to age, he could possibly take LSU to to top of the West. But my gut feeling is that after 4 seasons he'll have zero National Titles, zero playoff appearances, and probably no SEC Championships. Strong 9-3 or 10-2 type teams are likely in LSU's future IMO.

No, he seems more like a love child of Fran and Bret B.
The real test for him will be very fast. Can he close on some of these recruits that are leaning away from LSU right now? If he can get the talent then he passes the first test. If he can't and makes excuses while LSU ends up with a Class well outside the Top 10 then that's a warning sign.
I think way too many LSU fans are just assuming anyone can walk in and kill it in recruiting at LSU and that isn't the case. Coach O, Miles, and Saban were all great recruiters that got very personally involved. That's my biggest red flag on Kelly. If he can show that he can come in and beat out Saban and Jimbo and Kirby and land those guys then he's going to be a real threat. Of course that is just step 1.

Tom Lemming, who has been a national recruiting analyst for several years, said that Kelly likes golfing more than recruiting. He expects Kelly to recruit hard for one year and then go back to his old ways of golfing instead of hitting the trail.

It will all be about recruiting and that’s the bottom line.

Have to agree the guy is a complete down grade from the NC. coaches Myles and O. I’m pissed.

If it doesn’t work out, they can always cut him a check for $90 million dollars and send him on his way.

Yes, Faust coaches at a large Catholic School in Cincinnati, Moeller HS, all Male College Prep school similar to what you find common in New Orleans (Jesuit, Brother Martin, Holy Cross) and Baton Rouge (Catholic HS). His teams in the 1970's were considered among the best in HS football and routinely put like 10 players a year to Big10 schools and Notre Dame.

You avoided the question I posed, and instead went on a opinionated diatribe of regurgitate talking points seen 1000 times.
I'll ask again, would Miles or Oeaux become the winningest coach in Notre Dame history is either have been given the chance?

So, can we agree that Saban is a once in a generation type of coach and comparing him to others is a tired exercise?
Did you know win/loss records of the last two coaches at LSU when not actually on the sidelines in Baton Rouge in LSU gear?
When you look at Miles and O and evaluate their records at schools not named LSU, you see something eye popping, in a bad way... then you look at their record at LSU and it seems an outlier... .
But when you take it all in, you realize LSU made Miles and O successful more than the other way around.
Your quote above from your "gut" holds no basis in fundamental facts... LSU have made the last two coaches successful in their careers, they each hit the pinnacle of their professional jourey only while on the sidelines in Baton Rouge... the "gut feeling" that Kelly will be less successful then the last two coaches is simply laughable.
