Yep. If the majority of the fans in here weren’t idiots calling for him to leave last year, we would be in much better shape. A top ten offense wasn’t good enough for them.

For the hundred thousandth time, we didn’t fire Petrino because he was fricking a coed. We fired him because 1. He lied to his boss and all of us about fricking a coed, 2. He hired that coed to a position she was not qualified for over multiple highly qualified applicants and 3. Exposed the university to significant litigation because of 2.
Nick Saban would be fired for that. Now Alabama would have prevented ANY of it from ever seeing the light of day and so wouldn’t have HAD to fire him, but that was impossible for us to do because of #1. Saban wouldn’t have lied about it, he would have called his AD up and had it “fixed” real quick but that is another story.

As previously mentioned, if anyone thinks all of Meyer’s “recruiting assistants” were all on the up and up, you are naive.

There wasn't a law suit, but Varady (University Counsel at the time, now in charge of Razorback Foundation I think) Was most definitely involved in the decision. There were inquiries in the days after the news came out from those who applied for the same position that was basically given to a volley ball player. She was hired for different (Ahem) qualification than was stated in the job description. Several laws were broken in the hiring of his mistress, Mrs. Jessica Dorrell.
He lied, (fine, big whoop) He cheated on his spouse (Umm, K, Personal matter maybe), He lied again and took the lie in front of the camera for the world to see (Uhhh, now it is public what he did, who he hired, what she was to him) Surely you can see the ethical and legal conflict here.
