There, I said it. Dallas Turner is what we were led to believe Will Anderson was supposed to be.

Dude's motor just doesn't quit. When he makes his mind up that he's getting to the QB, you're not stopping him.

He played a hell of a game yesterday.

Ole Miss OL was holding him and Braswell on every play. They had no answers.

I like Turner but I have to point out the obvious - Anderson was severely hampered by Golding's schemes.

Alright that has to be his official name from here on.

Yep. I don't think I've seen Turner stunt into a center/guard double team one time this season. With Golding still on the sideline it'd probably be more like a dozen. We have essentially gone from a DC who constantly outthinks his players, and himself, to one who kind of falls into the opposite end of the spectrum where everything is really simple, see ball get ball type stuff. Neither is optimal, but with a bunch of athletic, talented players you're much better off with the simple, see ball get ball approach.

He's not better; he just has better coaching.

All those years of posters complaining about the coaching of Golding and now some of you are actually realizing how it wasn't the talent... it was the coaching.

Same with BOB.

Nah. Dallas certainly should be a first round pick but Will was better. Like others have said, Will was misused.

I couldn't help but laugh yesterday when one of the announces commented that an Ole Miss defender had dropped back in coverage and got burned and he said something to the effect of "he's never done that, that's not his job"

Brought back memories of Pert Gelding rushing 1 D-linemen

Amen... and Rees also.

What Golding did to this defense is a fricking tragedy but I'm more disappointed in Saban for keeping him around as long as he did. fricker should have been dropped after that 2020 season.

We almost certainly make the playoffs last year if Kevin Steele was coaching the defense.

Will Anderson has 9 tackles and a sack through 2 games with the Texans = his coordinator wasted him last year. Would love for Turner to get to that level over the course of this year.

Where was he for the Texas game ? Anderson as a freshman was better than him now.
Anderson is top 3 Lb in Alabama history

2/10. Would not recommend

I haven't seen him drop back into coverage on 3rd down to truly compare them

Will disappeared in most big games. Turner disappeared in the Texas game. I would rather have Ryan Anderson or Courtney Upshaw. They weren’t as physically talented, but you could always count on them to show up.

Turner disappeared because he was playing coverage instead of blitzing.

On one hand Will Anderson was pretty much unblockable one on one.

On the other hand, Dallas Turner hasn't talked about feeling anxiety going into a game against a team the program has beaten over a dozen years in a row.

So it's a tie for me.

This is a comically awful take. Turner is a good player who isn't in the same league as Anderson.

Anderson is a certified freak. He has hit the ground running in the NFL, and his combination of talent+instinct+effort is unreal.

Turner is also a freak, but he isn't as polished as Anderson. He is good in coverage, and can run down the ball carrier across the field, and is a terror off the edge. If he keeps it up, he will be a top 10 pick most likely.
