Uh oh. But Alabama stole the spot from FSU?

Looks about right, but I'm surprised Bama is at 3 and the longhorns at 5, you just cant ignore head to head when they have the same record. I still think FSU got screwed since Ohio State won a CFP with a third string QB. To me the 4th spot is what is most questionable between all the 1 loss teams and several have good cases to make.
But since we are moving to 12 teams next year, why not ditch the subjectiveness of a "committee" and just use the BCS system and invite the top 12?

It's BCS rankings. One major component is computer rankings, and while computers may have in their algorithms a component for head-to-head, it's unlikely they'll have a definitive "If team A beats team B and both records equal, then Team A > Team B, no exceptions."
Especially computer polls that weigh recent play heavier than early season play.

I'm fine with that, though it does seem counterintuitive to your argument considering that following the same logic would not have put Texas in over Alabama but rather would have FSU and Alabama in, with Texas being left out.

Life was simpler then.

I don't think it's ignoring head to head. I think it's more about Bama finishing the season by knocking off the #1 team who was defending back to back national titles and looking to 3-peat.
That, to me, outweighs a H2H win/loss from early in the season.

BS. Ohio State also took that third string QB and destroyed Wisconsin by 59 points in their conference championship to get in.
Maybe if FSU had not looked like hammered dog crap against Louisville they might have had a better argument.

Ohio state played great with their backups against Michigan and in the Big 10 championship game with Wisconsin. FSU looked awful in their last 2 games.

And there it is.
Looks over wins.
The very essence of what is wrong with CFB.

FSU playing with a backup QB was only part of the problem for them. OSU played a SOS of 35, had an FPI of 4, and beat the absolute brakes off of Wisconsin in a conference championship.
FSU played an SOS of 55, had an FPI of 11, and struggled against all 3 ranked teams they played. They didn’t deserve to get into the playoff with a healthy QB.

The BCS rankings were done by a computer. It took into account your record, your opponents records, who you beat, by how many, who did your opponent beat and by how many. Head to head was in that but it literally calculated hundreds of points of data and spit out the rankings

Cardele Jones had started 3 games that season at Ohio State and won his championship game 59-0 or something like that.

When I heard we were expanding to a 4 team playoff, I was legitimately excited. Then I learned we would not be using the BCS any longer and it would be a committee!
Never should have stop using the BCS.
Never should have stop using the BCS.

lol they've been hiding under a rock all day waiting for every moment to pop their precious little heads out and scream "TEXAS BAD"...then quietly retreat back under the rock.

Georgia's beat win is against no. 10 Mizzou, so they should be 8 or 9 at best.

Hey man, it’s your thread, OP. You shared the BCS results.
And…? You must have a point somewhere in there…

We still use BCS. This is the first year the committee deviated from the BCS and it was only because Texas won the H2H against bama. That moved Texas ahead of Bama and pushed FSU out

Yea, UGA beats them if they were to play them right now.
I thought Texas would have been a better matchup for a team like Ole Miss or Missouri.
