Hiring Petrino is disgraceful

And not b/c of his past sins. I'm not that guy. But because the guy has been nothing but rank mediocrity since leaving Arkansas. He's a 60 years old has been.
This is Hunter Yurachek caring more about swinging the fan base back to his corner than improving the football program. Because it won't do that.
But a huge portion of Hog fans think time has stood still for 10 years and "coach Bobby MFing Petrino" is still the biggest badass in the world.
Next year, everything good will be b/c of BP, everything bad will be SP handcuffing him. Then we'll get 6-6 BP as HC for a few years, and any real progress delayed another decade.

I’ve been back and forth with my youngest son on this tonight. Bottom line is, we will win more games and have a drastically better offense than we did last year. That’s all that matters.

This hire is the definition of desperation times call for desperate measures.
It basically snuffs out the fire to a simmering blanket of coals until the next ignition fuel is applied at a future date.

Petrino is just an average OC at this point. In 2010 his offense was unpredictable and difficult to defend because it was unusual. In 2023/2024 it's just another offense.
