I mean can they secure a spot with anything less than a huge blowout victory over UGA?

Don’t know but I do know that Washington will be obliterated by either UGA or Bama

True but Washington would get obliterated by half the SEC.

they can, but there cannot be 3 other undefeated teams from the big conferences. If 2 1 loss teams can qualify, then alabama can get in, and probably will. Ohio St./ Michigan will leave 1 undefeated. (of course that 1 loss team would have as good an arguement as alabama). you've still got Florida State and Washington undefeated. so one of them has to lose for alabama to have a chance. If you have 2 undefeated teams and a 1 loss Georgia and countless other 1 loss teams, alabama could get in. there would be plenty of hooping and hollering, but if the tv networks think they can get better ratings, they'll go that way. At least it's highly likely. Only scenario i can see playing out.

Ater the shite show of a September that the SEC had in out of conference games, this might not be the year for statements like that lol.

Absolutely. Of course they need help but there will be help. Lots of teams in front of Bama will play each other or play a rivalry game.

Ijust want to get the Iron Bowl right now.

They can but they won’t. A 2-loss team is out and Saban gone at end of season

Not sure why people continue to treat playoff selections like ti's some kind of unsolvable riddle. It's pretty easy to figure out what they'll do.

Yes, Alabama can 100% absolutely make the playoffs this year. But as has been the case the previous 9 years, it will rely heavily on what other P5 champs do as well.

They have to beat Auburn to do it.

Thus we see the Barn mentality in a nutshell. They only exist to be a thorn to be a angry little sister to Bama.

With a UTx or FSU loss, they control their own destiny again without doubt.

If they can claim a phony NC after finishing 3rd in the SEC, they can claim a Playoff berth 10 years later.

Winner of OSU/Mich is guaranteed in

Undefeated Wash is guaranteed in

FSU is not guaranteed with the Travis injury. They'll need to beat Louisville handily since they've struggled with multiple opponents even before he got hurt

Will depend on how Texas fairs the next two games as well. A texas loss gives an inside track for a 12-1 Bama

Can Washington? Looked like the flowers in Spring in September. Now look just like the flowers nearing December.

Would any other top ten team have been an underdog vs. Oregon State?

Ahh, never mind. Welcome back Whiskey Serraneaux.

Bama will be in the playoffs as the SECC if they beat #1 Georgia.
The role of the playoff committee is to select the 4 best teams for the playoffs.
I'm sure FSU will win the weak ACC but without their star QB, they are definitely not one of the 4 best teams so I believe they will be left out of the playoffs.
As much as I like Travis, that was very foolish of him and his coach for him to running for extra yardage against a cupcake team risking injury.
