This isn't some hype thread. Our defense is trash but I think our offense is truly elite this year. I think JD is a top 4 QB in the country and if he continues this pace should be sitting in New York at the end of the season.

His national rankings though 5 games:
2nd (6 less yards than first) in total offense
2nd in total touchdowns
4th in passer rating
5th in yards per attempt
73% completion percentage

He can't lose games to FSU and Ole Miss and still get to New York. Obviously those aren't going to be our only losses and it's not his fault that the defense is diarrhea. But, that's just how this works.

The truth is that his maturation and growth over the off-season is amazing. He's really got a good grasp of this offense.

He isn't going to be in NYC because your _efense sucks way too many dicks. They aren't going to invite a 4 loss QB when Penix, Williams, McCarthy, & Van Dyke are out there.

You built a Big 12 team. Kinda mind blowing tbh.

With the Season Hooker had last year and didn’t make it to New York with 2 losses, I don’t see JD making it either. Right now LSU has 2 losses and is looking at possibly 2 more. JD is having a great year this year, but he not getting invited to New storm playing for a 4 loss LSU team.

JD is a slightly above average QB with zero intangibles or field awareness

Exceptional passer. Runs the offense very well.

Probably the best QB in SEC. Going to be sorely missed at LSU next year.

Do you honestly think that we are only going to lose 3 games? And JD isn't Lamar.

I have been extremely impressed. Those throws he made against Ole Miss were next level

JD is probably the closest comp to Lamar Jackson since Lamar left college. They have near identical builds, running styles and passing ability. The biggest difference is Lamar has a slightly stronger arm, jayden does have NFL arm strength btw.

He had an absolute dime in the first drive of the game that Hilton unnecessarily stuttered on then dove to catch but dropped it. Should've been a walk in 60yd TD.

He also threw a perfect fade pass to the RB in the left side of the goaline in double coverage on one of the final plays that the RB dropped, would've tied us up and gave us a point after try to win it.

Then the final play of the game Jayden threw an absolute dime to Hilton in triple coverage in the endzone that with perfect arc hit Chris Hilton straight in the hands for a game winning jump pass. The pass was broken up because the corner pulled Hilton's right arm down before the ball got to his hand. Should've been a PI but it was a bang bang play in real time.

He’s a baller. I’ve been surprised by some of the dimes he has dropped on difficult throws this year. That intermediate/deep fade has been ridiculous. If LSU loses another game he probably won’t be a finalist though.

Also every time he gets hit I think he’s going to get hurt, he’s a skinny dude but tough.

He is a very good dual-threat QB who takes too many unnecessary hits.

Ex. Getting body slammed in the FSU game and the forced fumble vs Ole Miss when he easily could’ve slid in both situations

Seems like he could get an invite if he's able to keep it up but I think the schedule and LSUs final record will keep him out.

I think JD is a good QB; but as great as his best is; when he’s off. He’s really off. He’s just inconsistent.
