Why do Ole Miss fans still embrace the "Rebel" nickname?

I heard they finally quit waving those horrid little racists flags, and then quietly dumped the old slave owner with the white beard (General ??).
I really hate the whole cancel culture and wokester movement. I am very impressed that the Ole Miss faithful can hold on to their Civil War past without the entire liberal elite reigning down their thug tactics on them. I wish Ole Miss could share their secret with the rest of the Country...we need them in Washington!
Do they still sell Uncle Ben's Rice in Oxford? Asking for a friend....
