Pretty good track record as DL Coach around here. Could we take him without a DC named yet?

WoW! I take it you are either very young, Joking, or Have not watched very Much LSU football in the last 20 years. Haley was by Far the worst D-line coach at LSU in the last 20 years and now you want to make him D coordinator

Think he's a good candidate but ultimately will finish second

He had a pretty rough stint here already. Good recruiter. Not really a great coach. He also underperformed at Missouri which led to his new availability. Not sure he's the guy you want. Maybe as an analyst role so he can learn and grow and relaunch his coaching career, but I wouldn't want him as our DL coach and certainly not our DC.

Wow! You are either too old to see it or too dumb to understand what you're reading. I didn't say for DC.

During his time at LSU, Haley coached as many as 10 defensive linemen that were picked for the NFL Draft, including first-round picks Michael Brockers and Barkevious Mingo. He was part of the LSU staff that played for the 2012 BCS Championship game.

Yeah we know.

He sucks as a Dline coach as well.

I hear you. My question was meant as to whether he would be a good hire and could/would we do it without the blessing of a yet to be named DC.
If he can pull that kind of talent, I'd have to say grab him as an analyst if we can. You'd think he'd be receptive if/since he won't be in any great demand.

It became pretty well known amongst coaching circles and leaked out to pretty much everyone that LSU linemen may have complete studs yet were fundamentally terrible on technique. It took a lot of hard work to get the young man that plays for the Vikings up to snuff.

LSU's DL woefully underperformed while he was here. Now as it him or Chavis' scheme, who knows?

that was definitely one of the issues.

And he did preside over a long and drawn out but steady decline in our talent level. We went for GOTC where we could match Bama to a degree to getting run over and our DL getting shoved around at will.

And I can't be the only one that remembers all of our scholarship DL playing the whole game because we had zero depth. That was also, in part, part of Haley's legacy.

He’s a very good man, and he was a pretty solid recruiter for us but his DL didn’t exactly set the world on fire at any time he was here.

He wanted the DC position, didn’t get it...this the departure

There was an article where Danielle Hunter was called in by the vikings d line coach. He played his lsu film and asked him basically wtf were they even teaching you there. Brick sucks.

On Moscona’s show today Mike D. said that the DC hire will be able to hire the Defensive analyst and assistants.

So to answer that question: NO

He was also the coach the entirety of Danielle Hunter's time at LSU where he wasn't coached one bit.
