Supply chain issues are the main culprit right now.

Remember when Tennessee came out wearing black jerseys in 09? They got them done the week of, but they also used a very generic template

Compare that to their normal jerseys

Clint Richardson, the AU Uniform guy, said on Twitter that ULM or someone had a new alternate jersey made up this year, but it was based on a very basic/generic template and that AU would never do such a thing.

Also, I saw that the Twitter account for AU Equipment posted a pick of racks of orange polos, ostensibly for the coaches/support personnel this weekend. One of the comments to that post said that solidified no orange jerseys because you need a contrasting color between jerseys and sideline apparel. I am guessing this is so players can see signals, etc. coming in.

While this makes sense, players/coaches wearing signals on the sidelines usually wear a brightly colored neon hat that is not any of the team colors to make them easy to spot, so this one doesn't ring quite as true to me.

No way that can be accurate. I wouldn't be shocked if Auburn had orange jerseys already in order to wait for the right time.

I thought they had them during Nixs freshman year. They were going to wear them for a game but decided not to. I may be 100% wrong but thought that was the year they had the orange cleats, face mask, gloves and undershirts.

AU Football facebook pretty much confirmed no orange jerseys, so the fretting can quit.

I think they are really gonna do it.

Orange jerseys look so bad. This will really make it feel like 1979-1980. Sky high inflation. Terrible President. Playing like a Barfield team. Orange jerseys.

Yay! I guess.

If they come out in Orange, we better win or you will never see them again.

Where did the "Auburn has never won a game in orange jerseys" come from? I even heard it on WJOX radio show this morning that we've never won wearing orange jerseys. The YouTube video on pg 1 of this thread shows that AU is 2-1-1 in orange jerseys:

11/10/79
AU- 14
MSST- 3

11/18/80
AU- 31
So. Miss- 0

Then you have 1 loss and 1 tie vs UGA.

So is the video wrong? Or everyone else?

Everyone else. And the tie was presented as an "Auburn Wins, UGA Loses 31-31" situation.

Yeah I've seen those news headlines before. But at the end of the video it gives the dates and scores for the four games that have been played in orange jerseys.

Pretty wild that I've heard for.my entire life that we've never won wearing orange jerseys. Like an Auburn football history Mandela effect.

It's because they were most recently worn during the Barfield era, and everyone just assumes that Barfield never won any games in 4 years as head coach.

Sky high inflation: check
Terrible President: check
All we need is orange jerseys to come full circle

Hey a-hole take it elsewhere.

If we wanted the (make believe) political board we could have gone there.

Uniforms and politics don't mix.

Unless you're discussing how the American Army in the Revolutionary War made a wise decision switching from bright red uniforms to blue, so that they could camouflage themselves better in the woods.

I just am not as avidly against these players getting their request granted as I once was. I am betting it would look a lot nicer than the Barf days.

At a certain point, people realize that it matters more about what the players who actually wear the uniforms want.
