Hopefully a great freshman WR class will help whoever the QB is next year.

I think Thorne leaves. He had his taste of the SEC. I think Ashford gets convinced to change positions.

It'll be interesting to see how Hank Brown does in Spring ball. Does he have potential at this level?

Walker White stepping into spring practice, to all the fans who forgot about him:

I just wish we'd run 1 QB for 100% of the plays. This mix n match shite is for the birds.

I dont think any of this is his fault...

Our WR's just collapsed to nothing
Our WR can't make contested catches and don't get a lot of separation. He's been getting the ball out late, so every catch is contested.

Last year at MSU he had Keon Coleman... he would look good this year if he had Coleman IMO - that's a dude who can go up and win contested catches.

In 2021 he had a ton of talent around him including future NFL WR and RB.

I think Brown is the only QB on the current roster who comes back next season.

As for Vandagriff, if he doesn't portal to Auburn, I have to believe the kid just doesn't want to play. He is in it for a free education and possibly to get into coaching after school. But if he is even a shadow of the 5-star he is supposed to be, he is a shoe-in to be the starter at AU next fall. So if he's a dog, he needs to get to AU and Let's Go!

Do we have history or intel that would indicate he is remotely interested?

I believe his parents went to Auburn and we were in his final 2-3 or whatever when he was coming out of high school. And his name has come up repeatedly in the context of a potential AU portal candidate. Moreover, he is a 5-star high school QB recruit who has been ridding pine for 3 years now and has at least 1 more year as a back-up in front of him. Just seems that 1+1=2.

LINK

FWIW - this SI article says he grew up an Auburn fan.

There was a lot of smoke that he may leave last year, but he was in the QB competition last winter and once he missed the winter window, he would have to sit for a year in a SEC program if he transferred after that.

I don't want to get carried away. I'm just saying we should retire his number, that's all.

He’s the best QB we’ve had at Auburn IMO

I remember plenty of AU fans thirsting after his mom, no pics do your own searches

Dylan Raiola is probably the next Heisman and NC winner by reports so no one else is going to get a chance.

Yes. Both will be competing again for the starting job because somewhere in time, Auburn did something to the quarterback gods and they are bound and determined to make the fans suffer for a eternity

Spot on with your points NY.

Here is the math. Carson Beck is a junior so he has two years. Vandagriff is a redshirt sophomore. Behind him is Pistol/Shooter/Shotgun/Gunner Stockton who is a redshirt freshman and hand picked by Bobo the OC. And then we have the Raiola kid who according to scouts could have been the first kid to go straight from pee wee ball to pro football.

So Vandagriff rides the bench for this year and next. And in the spring of his senior season he gets to battle it out with Gunner and boy wonder, both of whom will be well seasoned by then.

Some say we reached out to him last year but the SEC rules prevented him moving unless blessed by his coach. Now thats not an issue come December 4th. We will know within that week if he is our new QB.

I think he stayed last year because he thought he would beat out Beck, no reason to stay now and Im certain the NIL money will be there. And Im sure through "channels" there have been plenty of discussions, we are talking 5 weeks from now.
