Why is being "close" good enough for this fanbase?

Anytime we have a GREAT season in any sport basketball and baseball mostly F4 & CWS the immediate reaction from the fanbase after we lose is "great season anyway" it's like the entire fanbase doesnt care about closing the deal and just happy to reach that point. We had an 8 point halftime lead and completely no showed the second half. The reaction by the fanbase would make you think we ran into the 90s bulls. I'm just tired of accepting that we can have a great season but it's ok to lose in the end.

Because we know what a crapshoot it is to even get to this point in postseason play. Single elimination game tournaments only prove who is playing better that day not the whole season (which we had a pretty damn good one).

I don't think that any of us are happy with the game today, but I am overall happy with the season.
Winning a basketball title is the hardest thing to do in sports, imo.
Just got to keep getting close and eventually youll catch a break or two and win one.
