Nike also runs a bunch of the AAU camps. Pretty sure a few years back, Barbee was asked to leave a camp because he was UA. That may have been crap, but I do remember hearing about it.

That's like KU saying if Auburn can get great RBs to come to Auburn, AL, so can we. GTFO.

And Addidas. They push kids at their camps to go to Nike or Addidas schools. UA does not have any big time camps of yet. I think there plan was to own football then branch out.

Kansas has made the tourney every year since 1990(24 in a row). Thats ridiculous. Auburn on the other hand has made....3.

I've talked to people who claim that the under armor Vs nike basketball debate is not as big a deal as people say

It may not be as big a deal but whether it be big or small there is a real disadvantage to being a UA basketball school right now.

I agree with them. If you look at the other UA schools they are signing top 100 and top 50 guys that play for Nike and Addidas AAU programs. I've said it a hundred times but what I feel like Auburn is missing is a Bobby Lowder who has the money and questionable ethics that it takes to succeed in today's basketball world.

It all starts with one guy. Donovan did it at Florida. Before him Florida wasn't regarded much higher than Auburn in basketball. Donovan = great recruiter.

We can play this game all day but we will never be serious contenders in basketball until we reassess what we are willing to pay and what we are willing to tolerate. Auburn fans are used to being bad at basketball and looking back at that one season where we did kinda good.

No disrespect to Barbee but it is what it is.

And as someone else mentioned, it won't really happen until compliance starts to ease off the program, which might never happen.

As Ellitor pointed out, Under Armour doesn't target baskestball schools but rather trying to break into football at the moment. Tell me one school that is signed with Under Armour that has any sustained basketball success. You can't because they don't exist. Notre Dame is arguably the best bball school they hav enow and even ND is average historically

Also, from what I understand the difference is not big now but used to be when we first signed with them.

Maryland, St Johns, Temple have all done well pretty recently. I'm sure there are a lot of Addidas schools as well.

Maryland has been garbage since they became a UA school, which is the MAIN reason Gary Williams quit.

Just off the top of my head, I know that some Adidas schools include Kansas, Michigan, Indiana, UCLA, NC State, and Baylor...

The UA schools dont compare, not in basketball. AND Maryland, St. Johns, and Temple are basketball schools!!

BTW, Notre Dame is still an Adidas school right now.

Didn't they have an ACC player of the year while they were wearing under armor? SO they can either draw talent, or they can coach up garbage...something we can't.

hell didn't they win the acc while wearing under armor?

Also i'm pretty skeptical to the fact that under armor is the main reason gary williams quit. Anything to back that up? I remember the rumors were that he was being pushed out.
