Yes, I know at least one (candidate) with 99% certainty. Sumrall coached under Neal Brown at Troy. Neal Brown coached at Troy under OG booster contacts. (There is nothing wrong or sinister about this, as folks go with people they know or who they are told to hire). You'd be a nut case not to admit that Neal Brown would be a candidate very, very high on the list.

Tony Franklin will be our OC. Chip Lindsey as a GA.

Joe Craddock would be too. He's a Chad Morris disciple

My opinion is there is a better chance he'd get the Tulane job than be our OC.

So who are the other candidates? Again, it just sounds more like you've convinced yourself of something because of what someone postulated on a message board than any actual intel.

What if it’s a done deal with Sumrall and they plan to announce Sunday after Iron Bowl but Tulane makes the Playoff?

If he tries to keep coaching we will just hire someone else. Whats the worst that could happen?

I've not said he is or isn't. However, it is still just an assumption because they have coahced together previously. I just think it is beyond premature to be concerned about the OC candidates, for a coach we don't even know we've hired, when the only thing that makes that person a candidate is they coached together previuosly.

You’d think Sumrall broke into Pokers house, kicked his dog and peed in his cornflakes the way he’s acting.

I already know this. However, this is still you just convincing yourself of something and not actually know what is reality or not. By the same logic, i'd be concerned with the candidates for Key, Brohm especially at DC, Golesh.

Hell, these quesitons are coming from me and i've been more than critical of the Sumrall hire if he ends up being it.

It has been postulated that there is a decent chance Durkin is retained. Why would I then just assume the offensive side of things Sumrall gets carte blanche?

Not if you having fun trying to analyze a coaching search and what is best for Auburn.

With a hire of one person, You're always gonna get more than what a few rah rah media clips suggest.

Staff is obviously essential.

If you're all in for Sumrall, you're most likely all in for Neal Brown (by choice or no choice)
Hence I'm very, very hesitant about Sumrall.

I’ll support whoever it is.

Auburn football is an addiction.

Is not good for me sometimes, but the highs are so high that I just want one more hit.

Sure, but there is a difference in having fun with potential scenarios and convincing yourself of something and using that as a main part of an argument against something. If Neal Brown is that serious of a candidate for example, I find it odd that he didn't hire him in some capacity this year.

ETA: And again, i'm not against being critical of Sumrall. I have plenty concerns as well with him.

I don't pretend to even know what's going to happen. I just wait and see. no amount of me whining about it would change anything. if it works, it works, if it don't, it don't and we'll be back here in a few years again.

Why would have to be someone that Sumrall has worked for or with? If Durkin is retained he has a vast network of coaches that he has worked with. Who’s to say that network wouldn’t be explored?

If Sumrall is hired, I would be surprised if we’re limited to only looking at Tulane, Troy, Kentucky, or San Diego coaches.

Furthermore, if Auburn hires a HC and an OC both with strong/identical Troy connections, there is no way that a rational person could say that Auburn is giving the best effort (for the fans).

Correct, but you do need to start asking yourself:

Why is the name Neal Brown mentioned in this and past searches?

Why is the name Charles Kelly mentioned?

If you're totally on board with these names great, but I don't believe you.
