Him cancelling pretty much confirms to Auburn job to me.

How do you know he doesn't have an agreement in place with somebody?

What kind of look is it for a HC to leave a job during the regular season for his next job? To my knowledge, it has never happened in the history of college football.

Summerall is going to be Auburns next head coach.

Hes not going to coach at Auburn until Tulanes season is over out of respect for his players and their season.

Hes not going to retain DJ Durkin when he comes

Auburn needs DJ to coach his arse of the remainder of the season and help keep the roster intact especially on the defensive side.

Auburn announcing now wouldn't change anything but cause people to hit the portal quickly.

I actually find this plausible for a couple of reasons. Having said that, I'm surprised we haven't heard about Durkin interviewing for any HC jobs.

not a fan of this. Durkin has been the best DC we have had in quite a while, IMO. He would help keep the D side of the ball from bolting.

If Auburn wins the IB then the PTB will have a classic knee jerk reaction.

has Cohen hopped on a plane to go see him? Nope

Has there been any rumors of any in person Interviews between Cohen and Sumrall in the past 24 to 48 hours? Nope

Have Auburn insiders suddenly come alive with a flurry of stories about AU making serious overtures to Sumrall? Nope

He may very well be the next HC, but until the chatter heats up like it always does during an auburn coaching search, no one has been offered the job. Making definitive statements that he is absolutely going to be the next HC and staff retention is pretty amusing considering Cohen has mentioned post Iron Bowl as his timeline for possibly naming a HC. We've shite the bed on so many of these searches the past 15 or 20 years that I would like to see the AD working his arse off and doing his due diligence right through to the end instead of sitting on his hands for the next 2 weeks.

Cohen's splash must be a pot hole in the road.

Really hope Cohen ends up looking like a genius for it.

It’s been Summral all along. Cohen basically described him to a “T” in his Presser. Probably been in the works for a few weeks leading up to Freeze being fired.

None of the other candidates made any sense. Key and Dilly would of made things interesting but both went full homer. We were never paying Drink or Lea 11 million when we had Summral and or Dirk

The exact opposite of what that snake, Kiffin is doing. I wouldn't respect or trust Sumerall if he shite all over the players at Tulane. He can be accept the job, be announced, and coach out the season at Tulane. That's very understandable and respectful.

Football Scoop has an article with the latest update. It’s in their pay section and I’m not a subscriber.

Do we even know if any of it is true? Why would Sumrall "cancel" on Florida? Wouldn't he at least listen to every major offer? And if he did cancel why would anyone let that out? It is a bad look for UF and I doubt they would be happy about it.

His agent may be, and would actually not be doing his job if he wasn't, but Durkin is anything but a Kiffin diva troll.

Auburn doesn't have insiders.

Can’t see spending money on something I’m only going to look at when Auburn is searching for a coach

LSU and Florida are both going to end up hiring duds. They both went out and put all their eggs into the Kiffin basket, and he’s more than likely going to stay put. We were bitten once by Kiffin, I’m glad that ship has sailed.

Why are you surprised? He was a disaster the last time he was a HC.
