I mean yes the program will continue to exist but we are officially going to be bottom feeders if the next hire is another 5-7 coach

Auburn is hopeless. Why are they so determined to keep these losers around. Do what Jake Crain said. Fire everybody, Cohen included, and sanitize the fricking building.

It’s Golesh or DJD at this point.

I was firmly on the DJD bandwagon until this week, but something about that hire just doesn’t give me the warm and fuzzies. Hopefully I’m wrong.

Brown for USF is probably the most expensive player in the AAC

Nope still stupid. Build him a solid foundation for the first couple years and then once he's established he gets full autonomy. I guarantee programs and the coaches themselves would have more success with these g5 guys if a situation would come together where the precedent could be set. I dont give two flying fricks that "thats not the way it's done". Everybody here is smart enough to understand that sometimes the greatest success comes from a shift in the paradigm. If Sumrall or any g5 guy, Golesh/Chesney, is hell bent on his guys frick him.

Maybe Cohen is shooting for the stars but I always respect those guys who try to shake things up. And it all comes down to would Sumrall with full autonomy be better than the alternative guy? And nobody has those answers.

Yall taking Sumrall with his crew or Golesh with DJ and Buster? Hypothetically.

Sumrall. You’re not going to convince me that telling a potential HC who to keep from a loser staff is a good thing. Also Cohen isn’t “shaking things up” by doing that. Hell we even told dipshit freeze he had to keep some guys.

Oh no I really meant frick Sumrall. If a coach or a recruit/player doesn't want to be then why would you want them? Regardless of any restrictions the AD did or did not put on him, this place has everything you need to win big here. If he couldn't see that then he ain't the guy. You know who does want to be here??

Agreed, your take is still stupid. You don’t have to convince me.

Depending on how the offense looks today, I believe we get back on track next season. Provided we keep the major pieces in tact and fix the OL coaching.

Honest question - Kirby Smart was a coordinator with zero head coaching experience when hired to UGA. He did not retain a single coordinator from the prior season to help him transition. Do you think that that was a mistake by the UGA AD that just happened to work out?

Why do you think it is a good policy for a coaching search to have to tell a coach who their assistants will be?

That makes no sense at all. If a program like Auburn, or what we believe Auburn should be, has to do that, we are going after the wrong candidates or we have a really shitty AD.

Again, Sumrall simply wanted to interview Durkin. If the decision is as clear-cut as you and Cohen seem to think it is, then he would have aced that interview.

Why the frick should Sumrall (a football coach who has experienced nothing but success) take the word of former baseball coach John Cohen on who his DC should be? These guys picked Hugh Freeze last time, which means that their "coaching evaluation criteria" clearly isn't worth shite.

Also, you have no conclusive proof that Sumrall just wants to bring his G5 coaching staff with him. This is fear mongering.

Bro, Sumrall just wanted to talk to Durkin first. If he is indeed the "best coordinator" for him then he should be able to sell himself easily.

Totally fair and Cohen going ahead and promoting DJ and giving him a raise is so unbelievably stupid that I just don't believe it.

Not buying he was told Nix and Marcus Davis had to stay either, thats probably even more stupid.

Thinking Cam isn't worth the money is the same level of stupidity on Sumrall's part.

Maybe some of the players on the roster are actually just "talented losers" who he doesn't foresee as part of a winning culture?

While there's definitely some guys out there that wont make Sumrall's roster i just don't buy that most of them are broken beyond repair. Treating this "losing spirit" like some holy ghost bullshite that can't be coached out of a mf kid is ludicrous to me.

I want to be Auburn’s head football coach. Does that qualify me for the job?
