Is there really anyone that thinks Durkin is the best that we can do and is the HC that can bring us back to relevance? I'm so effin sick of settling for shitty coaches no one else wants.

This is spot on. It is not about Sumral. It is about being lazy and not having other options on deck besides Durkin.

Yes it is. It is my understanding that because our pool of candidates was so unproven that is why we were offering assistance with DC's and such. Sounds to me like Sumrall believes he is worth more than he is and someone is willing pay for his ego.

This! So much this! There has to be something inherently wrong with our process to make bad hire after bad hire. We just can’t get out of our own way. You’d think we’d have woken up after Harsin and Freeze back to back. Guess not.

Someone above Cohen needs to take charge now, someone needs to take over the coaching search.
It's not too late, we can start over, there are lots of good candidates still available. What is happening now cannot be acceptable anymore.

Unironically should have just kept Freeze and fired him next year when the field was not so stacked since we apparently do not have people in charge who are able to navigate a competitive cycle.

This monumentally bad decision making on Cohen's part. I damn near had a stroke on here a couple weeks ago when other's were claiming this was a done deal. There is no situation ever in which your AD should shut down the coaching search and sit on his hands two weeks before you can officially sign him to a contract. As the old saying goes, if you're shopping, I'm shopping. Cohen should have been crisscrossing the skies and burning up the phones right up until the iron bowl ended. Now we are in a nightmare scenario with zero candidates, an AD looking like. a complete buffoon and in a position of hiring a coach out of desperation
