Yes an IC is appropriate at the right time. Get to the bye week and say bye to Harsin.

Find your replacement before the Iron bowl and announce it the next day. If he wants the job he comes and starts recruiting the Monday after the presser on Monday. If he wants to coach his other team in a bowl then no thanks. All in or all out. We need recruits.

If we can close the late signing period with solid players and some decent transfers we can possibly be a solid team in ‘25 or ‘26

If we fire him now, he can spin it against AU that he was never given a chance (and he’d have some backup facts to support it). Let him fail on the field on his own so everyone can see how bad he sucks.

He can say whatever the hell he wants. What you fail to realize is that he doesn't have great exit-rapport from his time at Boise (and that was his alma-mater) and AU can say a LOT about his time here (like a lot a lot). He has clearly built a reputation of someone who is impossible to work with, especially the administration - that isn't going to fly anywhere. Other coaches and football people within athletic departments KNOW what is going on at Auburn, and I can guarantee you that they're not of the ESPN-headline "aw shucks Harsin has just been screwed!" variety opinions.

By the way, do you think that Derek Mason and Mike Bobo aren't talking LOL? Those are two tenured, respected coaches. Derek Mason left to take a pay-cut and a demotion to Ok State. Kinda weird, huh? You think they're singing the praises of Harsin and his competence?

Harsin needs to look as clean as possible because it probably won't be that pleasant for him in the market. He already tried bolting this past offseason and you saw what happened there - he couldn't even get Petersen to get him the Washington job. People know who he is by now; stop getting spooked by ESPN talking heads as if they represent the actuality of the opinions of people who actually matter.

And no, I don't think that he's mailing it in or hoping to lose to "prove a point". That goes against his entire personality. He actually thinks he's a great coach. The guy is only 45 years old; he's not looking to retire. I'm pretty sure he'd like a job next season; and these pathetic losses that reek of complete incompetence aren't going to help with that. And no, he's not going to convince any AD out there that the mean boosters at Auburn didn't give him a chance. He has actually been left alone to do as he pleases. The results aren't very pretty.

Arrogance and incompetence together, when placed in a position of authority, never ends well.
I work in an establishment that describes this exactly.
As soon as daddy is not around to stomp out all the fires created by junior, it is crash and burn time.
Problem with Harsin is that there is no daddy to stomp out the fires.

Come on now, you can't put this out there and not be more specific.

Do we even know this happened? Sounds like message board fodder to me.

If he really wants to keep this job, why hasn’t he taken over the play calling duties?

I would like to see sources confirming he was looking for the job at Washington.

If Mason had signed a piece of paper Harsin would be gone.

If that's true, I'd be camped out in front of Mason's house everyday until he signed it. There's no statute of limitations. I might even throw some of the $ saved from Harsin buyout to him.

First off, if anyone really trusts our "Insiders" after the bullshite they pulled at the beginning of the year they need to get checked for insanity. Auburn doesn't have true "Insiders"

Anyone that gets to deal with the Auburn outside the locker room noise would too I think though.

But he has been celebrating with players in the locker room multiple times this season, so I’m not sure what to make of that.

He probably loves his players and is enjoying his remaining time with them. That doesn’t change the fact that he wants out (and knows we want him out) of Auburn ASAP with millions in hand.

Is this just over the whole color coded recruits stuff? That doesn’t sound very scandalous.

BigTastey, you keep referencing Mason signing a piece of paper. If you're going to that, you should at least say what was on that paper. I'm not calling you a liar, but without more detail, it's just not very believable that you know what was on said paper – versus just repeating a rumor about a paper.

What was on it?

Several keep making reference to things and like many things that turn out to be just rumors over the years, I expect that’s all these are as well.

Mason calls out Harsin enough for an investigation to happen, but not quite enough by signing a piece of paper to get him fired for cause? I’m going to need more than that than a dude named tastey for me to believe it.

Yeah, that completely strains credulity.

He is thinking he is set for life with 15 million bucks... not counting the $10 Million he already fleeced us for.

We are thinking he is a total fraud who cannot develop players, cannot recruit, cannot get along with coworkers, can not get along anyone.

As to Mason signing a paper, I have no idea. I do know that the investigation DID include complaints that Mason and others made about Harsin.

I also believe there is some truth to him having an open affair with Clesi, and Auburn required that he not directly supervise her.

The word is out now from another poster. This HC is prejudice as hell and time for him to go. Additionally, he has a family member who likes athletes. I will leave at that until that particular story breaks.
There are some things I hope never come out for the sake of the University.
Look, I am not here trying to be some big important person. I love the school like each of you. Things come my way and they are generally spot on.
I got pissed because of the inaccuracies of everyone blaming it on the board and fired that off.

People will still eat up any fake insider post they can. Some even come out of the woodworks this time of year to be fake insiders themselves, truly fun to watch.
