What Do You Think Harsin Is Thinking?

I've seen "insiders" say he is ready to leave, hates AU, and wants out as soon as possible. He is just biding his time and waiting to be fired.
Maybe it's true, but maybe it's not. It seems to me that he would be doing everything possible to salvage his career at age 45. And that would mean trying to win as much as possible this season. Sure, UGA and Bama are lost causes, but it's theoretically possible to go 8-4 if the stars align. And if he goes 8-4, he would be a legend considering how bad this team has looked.
What do you think? Is he keeping his nose to the grindstone and hoping to win or has he given up and just going through the motions?

Oh, he’s given up. Look at his reaction on the sidelines. Our OC looked dumbfounded in the booth. He’s going to be laughing his way to the bank very soon.

I think he is pissed at Drink and Mizzou for fricking up his buyout night.

Do you think AU hasn't fired him already because they want to make him suffer and earn his buyout? Or do they have other considerations?

I can only judge his thoughts based on coaching this season, so this is how I see his thought process.

I agree he looks emotionless and seemingly apathetic on the sideline. But he has been celebrating with players in the locker room multiple times this season, so I’m not sure what to make of that.
Also - is it possible to fire him and not pay his buyout? Like any situation where that happens?

Get that man a motorcycle and a former volleyball player to diddle

I think AU should make a public statement that we will be hiring a new coach at end of season, but not fire Harsin till seasons end. Make him slush through this mess and take the lumps and maybe we can fire him for insubordination. Firewall him from recruits and boosters
If we fire him now, he can spin it against AU that he was never given a chance (and he’d have some backup facts to support it). Let him fail on the field on his own so everyone can see how bad he sucks.
And I say this only because the play on the field is gonna suck anyway. Might as well throw it on the anchor that is Harsin

He is emotionless on the side lines

He's going to do that anyway. That's why he's not worried about his career or trying harder to salvage this season.

Yeah but he was that way last season before any of the "investigation" stuff.

I don’t really think about it. I was just throwing out something being a smart arse really. I’m not sure what anyone is thinking around Auburn. It’s a cluster frick is what it is.

He shouldn’t be paid a buyout. He doesn’t want to be here. Is in over his head. Basically throwing away games at this point.
Benching tank Bigsby is the biggest clue.

Let him take his arse beating on the road at UGA.
I don’t know if he wants to be here or not but he’s definitely not the right fit for our football culture. Maybe his culture is great if he followed 3 head coaches that had already and installed and had like a machine.
It’s not if but when. No need to rush. The players deserve better than to be swinging for 8 games.

Completely agree, but I think an interim might actually be an improvement for the players. It would probably help fans rally around the players on the team instead of drawing daggers for the coaches.

How is this not a situation for firing “for cause”?

He wanted a job in a P5 conference, got one, failed miserably, and is blaming the PTB for sabotaging him. He knows he won't be at Auburn next year. The performance on the field is his way of saying "frick you. You want to fire me? This team is going to suck so bad that nobody else will take the job."
