I mean, TT straight up told Leach they weren't paying. Now, I dont advice that strategy but I don't think buyouts (paid in full) aren't rock solid.

You sit Gus down and tell him we will give him $4.5 a year for the next four years. If he balks, you tell him you are going to make it ugly.
If he takes it, you could hire the next coach for $2 a year and actually save money.

I bet if they made a go fund me for the fans, we’d have his buyout raised in no time. I’ll donate the first $1,000.

Bad news is if Gus leaves, Steele will become the HC.

That will never happen. The PTBs can't afford after letting Gus go at some time, to turn it over to a DC who never ever had a successful HC career and is now in his 60s.

I'm surprised you thought of that one. :)

We have two years at most of him. He was guaranteed 75% of his $49 million, so he is owed $36 million.

He makes $6.8 million per season. This is season 3 of him, so that is $20.4 of the $36 million.

2021 will be $27.2 million of the 36 million owed.

I think we bite the bullet after next season and pony up the remaining cash to bounce this loser.

Hopefully PJ Fleck is still available.

He will be gone after 2021. That will be his final year at Auburn...

God it hurts so much when you actually see the numbers and realize the gravity of the mistake made in 2017

With Greene and Gus being outside hires, I wonder if they truly realize how shaky the ground is around them.

Some of us tried to warn all. But the sunshine pumpers won the day.

I wanted his arse jetgated in 2015. The backwards pass against LSU was it for me.

I was extremely skeptical of Malzahn when we completely collapsed against TAMU in 2014 to ruin our playoff chances and the team responded, with the SEC title still technically in play, by getting absolutely dominated in Athens (where have we seen this before...) and losing the Iron Bowl with a defensive meltdown, before losing to a Wisconsin team without a coach and sending Nick Marshall out with a whimper. And when confronted with the defensive woes that ruined the season, he came back with “I guess that’s why we just hired the best DC in America”. Good one Gus, your boom brothers went 6-6 the next year

2015 I was almost done, but I think 2016 UGA broke me to the point where I’ve never believed in him as the guy to get us back to a championship. All the blunders after that have just been added embers on the funeral pyre.

I dont think he fricking understands the UGA game. And if him and/or Gus send out some vague inspirational post/tweet, I will flip my shite.

The Texas Tech situation is in no way, shape, form, or fashion like Auburn's.

Allen Green has done a great job.....based on what exactly? I'm not saying he's done poorly, but what has he really done?

Gus will accept a reduced buyout....on what planet would he do so?

You're kidding yourself if you don't think Rhett Lashlee will be the next coach.

I don't think Allen Greene has really accomplished anything or made any major decisions since becoming our AD.

His PR team and snazzy social media profiles have a lot of you guys fooled.

While I think AD Greene has done ok so far, and he is young and learning how to manage a P5 conference school, there are a couple of areas I think he was weak in:

1. I am not sure he was the dominant force behind the FOF need. As a matter of fact(although, it may have been more Leath), it was going to be delayed at one point, till some PTBs said get gone Leath and told AG to get it going.

2. Although it is not a big sport, his supporting the current Women's Head basketball coach is head scratching. Giving her a new contract, and now after terrible years, is still supporting her.

Greene hasn't done a GD thing. Gus is his first real test.
