I was browsing r/wde and there are a lot of people on that sub who are saying a lot of incorrect things about those tweets. And their own misinformation is fueling their vitriol. The most egregious one was claiming that Freeze was DM’ing Andrews because she accused his players of being rapists.

It's their job to hire the best coach available and they did that. Just because names were threw out in here doesn't mean they would have came here or even listened. It's not their job to let fans tell them who to pick no more than letting the boosters.

But that's not factually true.

You think this current shite storm is what's best for Auburn? Whether you agree with it or not it exists and it's really bad for an already fractured Auburn fanbase.

Cadillac gave everyone a reminder of what Auburn football is supposed to be about after the nightmare that was Harsin and they went out and immediately squashed it in the most spectacular way imaginable.

Not a single person on here knows who was really going to take the job or was just squeezing money out of other jobs.

All of this is 100% over people mad about not getting "their" guy and are in turn helping the rival teams stir up a shite storm to hurt Freeze and in turn Auburn football.

Just like last time and the time before that. I'm not sure Bill Walsh or Vince Lombardi could appease our fanbase.

Like I said, there’s a couple people here that just struggle to cope in a world where people don’t like Hugh Freeze

People didn’t like Harsin when he was hired. People didn’t like Gus. We’ll all be ok in time

That's right we hired a coach not a preacher but we hired an average coach. Gus 2.0 comes to mind. Hopefully he does well and keeps his nose clean and rises above his past.

The Auburn Creed is violated and may never be redeemed. I despair for all the Auburn family.

There’s like 2 people who know the Creed without looking it up. I doubt you’re one of them.

Don’t give the new coach any ideas.

Freeze wasn’t preaching Christianity. He was closer to a Jim Jones false prophet.

Hugh Freeze played to the crowd, joked with Bruce Pearl, took a shot at Alabama had all the buzzwords ready. He sidestepped or straight-up avoided the tough subjects. And the guy who really needs to answer for the hire, John Cohen, didn't take questions. Auburn PR at its finest.

Can we burnt meme our stupid writers or do our basketball students do the soy organic oat milk consumption thing

The reality is there were only a couple of coaches IMO who would have completely united everyone but we missed on them. Everyone else had some kind of knock whether it be credentials, culture fit, pearl clutching, or whatever else...

The AD went with who he thought would get us wins. If Freeze wins and keeps his nose clean people will come around.

Kiffin - United missed
Rhule - United missed
Fickell - Maybe missed
Freeze - Pearl clutchers don't like
Urban - Pearl clutchers don't like
Prime - Lack of experience
Grimes - Lack of experience / coordinator
etc. etc....

Not experienced enough. He's now associate head coach which is perfect IMO.
