It’s that time of the year

At what point is the self-isolation/shut-down no longer worth it?... we’re sacrificing a healthy economy to save lives... how many hourly or gig workers can go on without a paycheck?

I hope the silver lining in all this is that we are better prepared for the next pandemic... so that complete shutdown isn’t necessary.... bc what we’re doing now is going to be felt long after the virus runs it’s course.

Controlling the virus should help stabilize the market. Fear is the biggest problem (supply is becoming an issue too).

Shutting down everything helps the containment effort. It’s brutal short term but important.

They won't be earning a paycheck if they are dead or laying in a hospital bed either.

Yep. Uncertainty murders the market. It's worth it to eat a loss for a little while if it means getting things under control quicker and bring some stability.

This could be said about a myriad of everyday activities, not just potential exposure to covid-19.

Things are business as usual here in the Bait shop. Order away. You wil then be prepared when you have to fish for your food.

No kidding, we are swamped and very busy. Hopefully, people out of work will go fishing.

I'm "working from home" today, Price is Right on in the background. One part of a prize was tickets and round trip airfare to the Final Four. Made me sad again.

New York, New Jersey, and Conn. are getting serious about this stuff.

New York's mayor has ordered restaurants, bars and cafes to only sell food on a takeaway or delivery basis as the city battles to halt the spread of COVID-19.

California’s Bay Area on Monday will reportedly order residents to “shelter in place,” coming amid strict social distancing measures implemented earlier by New York, Connecticut and New Jersey—including gym, movie theatre and restaurant closures—in an effort to further prevent the spread of Covid-19.

Interesting about the Bay Area since they are okay with defecating in public among other disease promoting measures.

Had a discussion last night with a friend and we talked about that. If the "Tent people" start to get sick, its going to be a mass killing there. All those people living in those tents and shite will all get infected.
