I love the guy, and I love his heart and what he did for Rod and Paula, but his play-by-play really leaves something to be desired. It’s just not good. It feels squeaky and bush league.

Yeah, I know that radio broadcasts aren’t what they used to be and the influence is much diminished, but having a professional sounding play-by-play guy feels more substantial for whatever reason.Makes for great clips, and iconic moments. Which can be repurposed into social media clips, highlight reels, coaches review shows, and things for recruiting.

I can tolerate it somewhat for basketball and baseball for whatever reason, but he just doesn’t have the play-by-play chops that Fyffe or Bramblett had for football. Wonder if anybody else feels this way.

I don't think anyone cares for his football play by play. But in his defense, he is following two legends.

I don’t care for his play by play at all. To me, he’s nowhere near the same league as Rod or Jim. Even his MC duties at Tip-off at Toomers sounded awkward and hollow.

He constantly gets AU players name wring when I can see clearly on the TV. I have stopped listening to them because of this. He really is bad.

I don't like listening to the AU broadcast anymore. I think they should strongly consider getting someone else.

I listen to the broadcast for every game. For as bad as Andy can be, the network broadcasters are ALWAYS worse. Stan does a good job with it.

I have met the guy and he seems super humble and down to earth.

But when a big play happens it sounds like someone has kicked him square in the nuts.

He is the worst call guy i have ever listened to for football.

Basketball is more his niche

I thought letting him do football that first year after Rod’s death was a nice gesture, and that they would start a search for a full time replacement after the season.

He’s a competent broadcaster, but PBP is not really in his skillset.

We had two great ones. They were the upper echelon in the SEC. Burcham is fine, but average. I hate to say it but Eli Gold is probably the best in the SEC right now. He has a great PBP voice.

That tells you bad the entire profession has become. Scott Howard seemed good back when Mark Richt was the coach but ever since 2017 I swear something has possessed him to scream until his voice cracks for literally the most insignificant plays on the field

I thought this early on but after others told me to give him time I haven’t said much about it, but I just can’t get behind him and he will always be a hero in my book but sadly not in the role he is right now.

Didn’t Georgia have a great while Fyffe was calling here?

I don’t know. There is just nothing iconic about him.

Fyffe and Bramblett were great, so two difficult acts to follow.

I recall not being overly impressed with Rod when he took over for Jim. From memory it seemed to take him a season to get his sea legs and settle in. Fyffe was incredible. But once Bramblett settled in he was fantastic as well.

I don't have the same opinion of Burcham, but we don't live in a vacuum and we all improve at different rates in our jobs and lives.

“Go Crazy Cadillac” was in his first season and one of his most notable calls. It was the pure enthusiasm that he always had that made him.
