There is a whole lot wrong with that gif, not just Stidham. If he eats it then everyone complains about him taking another sack. I’ll take Bo over Stidham all day, but some of you guys have a weird axe to grind with him.

Atrocious block attempt by Boobee, no doubt. I’d give Bo better odds at at least throwing the ball away and not utterly panicking, though. Could be biased, for sure.

really don’t get the Jarret Stidham hate on this board.

The guy was just mentally weak under pressure. Bo Nix is the exact opposite, and for that, I am glad.

The whole double reverse pass concept is not likely to work versus SEC teams.

Just run the ball. Play action is fine, but get the ball out in 3 to 3.5 seconds in rhythm.

Long developing plays are not going to be possible unless this offensive line improves a great deal.

A jet sweep is fine.
Wheel route, great.

But please stop the multi fake play action on third and long. It holds nobody.

Wasn’t this the game where Jeremy Pruitt was calling our plays to the defense before they happened?

Stidham is still having to rush to get his shoulders and hips flipped while setting his feet. If you're going to do it, at least do it so your QB is moving to the side where he can set and fire quickest. Why did both of those plays require him to flip his body 180 degrees?

Good point, but that MSU play would be completed by 93% of HS QB's. That game could have gone in a completely different direction if MSU had to play from behind and needed to pass the ball.

That's a terrible play in every respect but the zero effort block by Whitlow was worse than the decision by Stidham.

Damn near lost a plasma screen after that play last year.

Cooler heads prevailed thankfully.

They had a free blitzer.

Maybe Bo can side step rusher and be accurate.

You got me.

However, I would say that long developing plays are not as likely to give the QB a clean pocket, whereas, timing routes and getting the ball out quick after a read or two would be more likely to provide consistent play over time.

Do you not see a difference between Stidham and Bo in the intangibles department? Serious question.

Nix has quicker feet and is faster. Does that make you happy now?

We honestly don’t deserve Stidham. None of the of y’all were trashing him in 2017 when he won the west and when he beat Saban and Kirby.

There was a massive difference in Stidham’s supporting cast between 2017 and 2018. It’s not debatable. 2017 AU offense was loaded at every position, 2018 was depleted at every position.

Stidham beat Bama and UGA and won the West in his first season in the SEC. I hope Nix gets us to championships.

Auburn and Gus have the potential to have 2 pocket passing QB’s in the NFL in the next 3-4 years. The greatest dynasty in NFL history paid Stidham $3.2 million dollars. Nix could do the same. Seems like a nice selling point to 5-star QB recruits. Stidham won’t break NFL records, but he was a very good QB for Auburn.

The missed block, which wasn't even a missed block it was a total lack of effort to block, led to the situation that created the turnover.

I was pretty harsh about Stidham last year, but it's time to move on. The guy can't be awful because he's the backup for the Patriots. I just don't think he fit in the offense and a terrible o-line wore him down.

You can see JS turning away from getting the approaching defender right as he released the ball to avoid getting hit, which likely affected his accuracy. Pretty sure even the ESPN announcers commented on it on the replay. Based on what I saw last Saturday Bo wouldn't have made that mistake.

And despite all the shite we gave Gus/Chip for offensive ineptitude in that and other games, that was a perfectly called and almost perfectly executed play in that situation. Almost
