It was properly called on the field. The idea he should have been suspended or ejected are ridiculous

You see hits like this every weekend

Gtfo, No you don't. That hit occurred so late after the play, the ball had already bounced some 8-10 yards away.

No player is bracing for a hit that late, it's basically a sucker punch, which is why it is so dangerous and dirty. As a "coach" I'm surprised this needs to be explained to you.

Remember this hit from the Florida Safety against Oklahoma in the BCS National Championship?

mckibaj, that was a live ball and the hit actually defended the pass and WR ability to catch the ball.

What happened to Hunter was basically a sucker punch unlike that play.

it wouldn't get near as much coverage as it's getting for Deion and Colorado's Cinderella story.

This was still a big story even without Deion. If the first true 2way star in decades were on Ohio St, Texas or USC, this would be reported on extensively.

I was excited to watch Hunter play this year. It's really cool to see a 2way star, just like Ohtani in MLB.

Meh.

I've seen it. We even nearly killed a Georgia WR. Yeah, that is a penalty now but perfectly fine then, but the death threats being on table just shows how soft the society is. That play against Hunter would have been an atta boy. There would have never been death threats of any kind.

Tell Josey from Missouri we are sorry for pushing him into a golf cart as well.

Or for ramming Fairley's facemask into the small of Murrays back. shite like that is dangerous if you step back and think about the bigger picture of what we expect football players to do.... If you dont zoom out you feel better inside.

Truth is if he didn’t get hurt, nobody would be talking about it. Those hits happen a lot but usually are at the head level. He dropped a shoulder into his belly from what I saw. Rules have to be the same for everyone. So instead of a half for targeting, we want it to be for the season now? Head shots have been categorized as the worst so not sure how this body shot is in someone’s top 25.

Everybody mad their best player got hurt on a late hit. Makes sense. But let’s try to avoid suspending players for a whole season based on judgement call by the NCAA…FFS that is dumb.

He was our angel! We have been in the abyss since that season if you ask me so it was well worth it.

But Aaron Murray actually did call a pretty good game about Auburn, and the annoucers tried to bait him into some of his Auburn stories inside Jordan Hare. Murray was professional throughout. If you heard what Murray went through the weeks following the Nick Fairley game you would start a gofundme for the kid. Fairley didnt even get any death threats. The CSU hit looks benign. It would register a 2/10 compared to Nadamakong Suh or Vontaze Burfict

Head shots and knee shots are probably the dirtiest plays. This was neither. He’ll he didn’t even hit him as hard as he meant to.

So it’s about your feelings. This feels worse so it must be. You love Hunter the two way star so this feels worse.

Sigh

Let me hit you full speed, not my full speed mind you but football speed, and give you that forearm shiver right below the ribs and we’ll see how your liver feels.

I don’t even care though. I forgot.

Maybe.

Don’t really have one close. At least 20 min away. It’s inconvenient.

That was good of him. Right thing. He didn’t say if it was dirty or not, but people are foolish for threatening the kid. I agree. Prime is a damn good coach.

Pete, you've got me coming around to liking him more. He's grown up a lot in good ways but has never strayed from being who he is. Still hate his loud mouth and primadonna crap during his college days at Free Shoes and our Sugar Bowl, tho.

Bo thinks a lot of him and you should too. He got an interception against us. He was doing his job. Big deal. At least he wasn’t the one who blatantly interfered with our receiver the play before that. You can hate that guy all you want.

You eat paint chips as kid?

I said that stars get more media coverage. This story is getting coverage not just from Deion but also Hunter being a unique star. Coverage is determined by how much interest people have in the story

Similarly Aaron Rodgers had more Achilles injury coverage than say Cam Akers

I mean I feel pretty strongly that clear, intentional late hits have no place in football. Thats not player dependent. The game has plenty of opportunities within the rules and before the whistle for big hits and setting the tone.

For the record, I don't think the kid deserves some lengthy suspension. Definitely no death threats
