Anyone totally against TJ getting 3 series reps this weekend?

I'm eh on the idea but can see a benefit to it in some instances. I think Bo getting a look and a chance for the adrenaline dump after the start can help him see the entire game outside of himself. Now if we are in horrible or great field position I say go with Bo but I don't see a huge negative of using a series to get TJ some experience just in case.

All depends on the situation, I guess, but I think we should just wait until we're down at least 2 scores before doing it.

If they give him a series every game it's not a slap in the face to the starter... it's developing the backup.

You don’t develop the backup in close games you might lose.

I didn't really like his demeanor on the sideline sat night

I don’t love the idea, but I think if you’re going to do it, you give him the second series of the game, no matter what

I think he will get a series or two each game going forward. Bo is the starter and there is no doubt about that. Not sure what folks want for any QBs demeanor. QBs do not rotate often, WR, RBs TEs, all get the chance to sub in.

Yeah, I don’t hate the idea either. Like you, I think it might be able to help Bo calm down.

Bo is the Qb. TJ is the back up. If he is needed, his. number will be called.

If Bo is playing as well as he did at LSU, then no.

I don't mind TJ getting 1 series in first half, after Bo gets the first 2 series.

And possibly 1 series in 2nd half, if Bo has not gotten us into the EZ by mid 3rd qtr.

But as Chex said. Bo plays until he isn't producing, then Finley gets his chance.

I had wondered about this. Harsin made a comment a while back that Bo has a lot of perspective when he's on the sidelines, almost like a young coach. I think TJ was inserted in the LSU game for a multitude of reasons - development, deserved an opportunity to play against his former team, etc - but I wonder if, given that comment, perspective for Bo might have also been part of the plan. Get out of the game for a minute, take a breath, look at what's going on, talk about it. Go back in and kick arse.

I don't know if we'll do it against UGA or not, but I wouldn't be surprised.

I hope we don't have to revisit this thread Saturday night. Seriously what QB regardless of program is going to look "good" against the thUGA defense. My prediction is everyone will be bitching about Bo again saturday evening.

I'm telling you now whoever plays QB to get any offense going for Auburn is going to have to make plays and put balls in harms way. Can we win contested catches? Can we make people miss and rip off a run or a run after the catch. But if we can't move the ball then Bo is going to have to take chances so if he has numbers like 16-30 with a TD and 2 INT doesn't mean Bo went back to bad Bo sometimes you have to just say that other team is better.

We are all going to be reminded that Bo is not a passing QB on Saturday afternoon. He is also not a decisive runner.

He is a fiery competitor but lacks good QB footwork (ruins his accuracy) and cannot see the middle of the field. He loves Auburn and we love him - and that will get you 2-3 field goals this weekend against a complete defense.

Right now, Bo is better than TJ but that is just now. Bo will not improve. I would like to see if TJ can improve and 15% of the 1st team practice reps won’t do that.

Respectfully disagree. Bo showed clear improvement in several aspects against one of our rivals in Death Valley at night where we had not won since 1999.

It's one thing to see him perform better against Akron or ASU, but the fact that he showed better decision-making and footwork and accuracy against LSU backs up the claim that he has, indeed, improved and will continue to do so. How much will he improve? Anyone's guess - but it certainly appears there will continue to be some improvement.

Obviously he could completely stall and not improve, but there is no basis to say definitively "Bo will not improve."...

Believe it or not Nix will be the best QB on the field for both teams. I wish you people would shut up.

For real. You would think, as Auburn fans, everyone would be hoping Bo plays the game of his life so we can shite kick those bastards. But it seems like some want to be able to say "I told you so" more than anything else.

What I thought was interesting with Bo was his on the run passing was improved. He seemed much more on target than usual. Maybe because he was running for dear life all over the place he didn’t have the time to overthink it.
