What’s your date for the new coach hire.

I’m going to say Monday Dec 5th.

I do not see the excitement people have for this guy. I think this is a train wreck waiting to happen.

How many more programs does he need to turn around for you to get excited?

Auburn, Temple, and Baylor are not the same. The competition, the recruiting, the schedule, you name it.

Harsin also had 5 10 win seasons at Boise. We need a coach that has been in the sec.

While Auburn might be fine (or great) with that timeline, if he wants to get back into the college ranks, why would he not wait to see what other jobs might come open. Might get a job he likes better or at least drive up his price as we enter the silly season.

Lane's last regular season game is the 24th, and Deion's last regular season game is the 19th.

Day after the Iron Bowl, with the news purposefully leaking the game is my guess.

It depends on how big of a hire it is. If it's not a splash hire expect it after the final Playoff rankings are announced. If it's a splash hire expect it after the Iron Bowl.

Portal Opens that day, which is the technically the first time coaches can talk to transfers. We need to hit that portal hard and at least have a week before Monday the 5th with a Head Coach.

I mentioned it a few posts up. In a nutshell, we can’t compare temple and baylor to Auburn. Those schools don’t face the same competition each week. He doesn’t have any sec ties, and I don’t think we can take that chance with another outsider like we did with harsin.

I would be cautious of him. I am not sold on him and here is why.
Positive: He has a lot of coaching experience both O & D.

Cons: 2 bad years and 2 good years at Temple. In the two good years there isn't a signature win unless you count Penn St with Franklin in YR2. Other than that...nada and Cincy, USF, UCF

While at Baylor had 1 out of 3 good years. No signature wins, no wins over ranked teams. And they were ranked that year and where they were within 3 ranks of each ranked team.

So nothing stands out for me and he left when he was hot to go to the panthers and that didn't work out. So why leave? Money? Doesn't like Recruiting? System guy? I don't have those answers but he hasn't showed where he would be able to compete with all of the ranked teams we have in our league.

It'll be directly after IB. Even if they go for a guy who's not coaching, I doubt they announce until then. Don't need to steal Caddy's thunder.

Agreed but Prime will probably want to get through the SWAC Championship game a give the school the undefeated season.
