Last year's Auburn team would have drilled threes in their face
Auburn shot .359 % from 3 last season.
Auburn shot .416 % tonight from 3.
Your statements doesn’t match the facts of the statistics.
Bottom line Michigan is probably a $10m NIL basketball team this season. Auburn is about a $5m NIL team.

well at least one of us scored tonight

We aren't as good as we thought we were.
Surely we aren't as bad as we looked tonight.
Unless we have somebody step up at PG, we will have struggles. Pett is a 2. From what I have seen early in the season, we don't have a true PG. Jovic has stepped his game up. That's nice to see. We just need to grow at both ends. Hopefully our bunch can figure it out.

Jovic was a bright spot. He is developing and doesnt quit. I wish he could shoot the three

Our team shot 35.9 % last versus 30% so far this year, so yes the statistics very much support my view that our three point shooting was much better last year, and we had tremendously better 3 point shooters with Denver, CBM, and Kelly versus what we have this year, that's not even debatable. And that's not even going into having two excellent inside scorers with Broome and Chaney, which we don't have this year.
We are 288th in 3 pt shooting % this year so far, we were 73rd last year. You are just being straight up obtuse with this argument.

Auburn this season has a roster turnover of what I conclude was 90+% or more.
Plus the turnover of the HC position.
And now shitty fans are crying into their cheap Natty Lights that we are no longer a Final Four level team.

Looks like we play St. John’s tomorrow evening. Brutal schedule. We will definitely know what our team is like headed into conference play

Yeah, that's a rough draw if so. Definitely a ridiculous stretch of good teams going into conference play.

I think we need to start thinking in those terms. Pettiford is awesome and will always be somewhat of an AU legend for his tourney performance last year.. but I don't think he's a guy you can spend half of your NIL budget on and build a team around. A guard whose main attribute is scoring is not core to roster construction. You do the big spend on the rim protecting big who can also score, or a forward with an inside out game and glue defensively and piece around that.

Yeah, pretty much both of these. Or maybe better to say we are as good as we worried we were going into the season. I personally was thinking 8/9 seed territory with 6/7 upside going into the season, but I wasn't expecting our 3 ball shooting to be as bad as it has. It's still way early with a roster that has barely played together, hopefully those parts gel and we get consistent.

I’ve watched some of the game again. Another big thing the offense is missing is the pass inside or on the flex cut from the 5 man (Murphy) from the top of the key when we get into motion. Cardwell was great at it, Broome was good at it. Huge part of our offense.

But the big issue is defense. It’s not good. We are ok getting turnovers but as the season goes along it will be harder and harder to turn teams over.

I turned it off last night with about 5 minutes to go in the first half. I knew we were about to get blown out.
Terrible matchup size wise and felt also experience wise. They looked like big grown men playing against little kids.
We have 1 true inside player and he needs 20 lbs of muscle. Big teams are going to do bad things to us all year. Not much we can do about it. We aren't big enough at the rim. Teams are going to go at us all year.
We need better creators on offense. Our bigs last year were good passers. We also had CBM and Denver who were good passers. We are missing that bigly right now. I think Magwood makes good passes and Hall does at times. Not sure anyone else is really looking to facilitate.
We aren't as bad as we showed last night, but we may have a few of those games this year due to bad matchups. It cannot be fixed this year so we just gotta ride it out.

I hope the hangover like play doesn't show up tonight. It's great to play these really tough teams to forge the team, but a few night like Michigan could break a team's spirit.

Yeah UF is probably going to do the same to us, UT and UK as well. I haven’t seen anyone other than bama in conference yet besides those. Bama is the only one we match up against and they are very very talented. Anyone with 2 big 5’s and 1 big 4 is gonna cause us lots of issues especially if they are a scoring threat

I agree we aren't as bad as we appeared last night, but with our schedule we could be barely above .500 headed into league play with some potentially demoralizing losses. I think 8/9 seed would be a successful year with this group.
I hope Steven isn't judged too harshly on the drop off from this team compared to the last couple of years by the general fanbase, but I think most of you posting in here will be fair about it.
Steven's success at AU could be ultimately decided by this upcoming offseason roster construction.

Fixed it for you. How much do the money folks want to invest in basketball. I think last years roster was around 7.5. This years roster around 5.5. And we got great deals on Chaney, CBM, and Dylan.
