Some of Jabari’s biggest concerns as a prospect were his ability to handle the ball and create his own shot. As he’s been coming on stronger towards the end of the season his handle has looked way better than it was in college and he’s driving the ball a lot more which is great to see. If you remember, he mostly lived on the 3 pt line as a spot up shooter in college. Great to see him put the ball on the floor more successfully - that will be huge for his game if he’s a threat to dribble and get to his spots when attacked by closeouts. Also had some great assists tonight.
Highlights from tonight: LINK.
And a couple weeks ago : LINK. More good driving and shot creation.

Kessler put up 18 pts, 8 rbs, and 7 blks tonight. This is almost a normal stat line for him this year just ridiculously good for a rookie. Arguably a top half center in the league already. Block highlights from tonight: LINK.
Highlights from his 31 piece the other night: LINK. He makes his living on offense almost exclusively in the paint right now, but he has great hands and feel around the basket so should hopefully be able to build on his game and extend his range and skill set. Has started showing some new post moves in the past couple games.

He’s still only like 19 or maybe 20 years old. As he develops more strength and girth, his drive game will improve.
With his frame, Jabari could easily put on 20-30 pounds of good weight without compromising agility/speed.

He's 19 until May
A couple fun little random stats I found on Twitter:
- Jabari and Luka Doncic are the only teenagers in NBA history to record 500 rebounds and 100 made 3s in a single season
- Kessler and Jabari are #1 and #2 among rookies in blocks this season:
#1 Kessler - 168
(huge gap)
#2 Jabari - 66
- Kessler also leads all rookies in PER:
#1 Kessler - 21.6 (#26 in NBA)
#2 Jalen Duren - 17.4 (#65 in NBA)

Good interview with Walk: Walker Kessler on being traded for Rudy Gobert, his favorite block, and more

After being elbowed in the head by his own teammate on Saturday, Walker Kessler has entered concussion protocol and been ruled out for the remainder of the season.
Although on the glass half full side of things, this now cements Walker with the highest field goal percentage by a rookie in NBA history

I just saw another post that if Kessler had just 2 more FG attempts he would’ve qualified for the 3rd highest FG% in a single season in NBA history

Just a phenomenal rookie year. Jazz are in a spot where they could get in contention for the west soon and Kessler should be starting for them for the foreseeable future

JT Thor sighting! Covering Jabari here so that was cool to see LINK. JT has gotten a lot more minutes as the season has gone on and has started the past few games. Not sure if that’s because of injury, but his coach praises him a lot. Says he plays great defense and has great IQ. He’s also started showing a shooting stroke and offensive bag as of late.

Jabari has been absolutely hooping recently. Too lazy to post a bunch of stats right now, but he just had a career high 34 pt game, has been on a tear the last 3 games, and his efficiency is way up this year vs. last. He’s finally getting more opportunities on offense now that he’s shown some consistency.

It's been fun to watch him finally turn it on.
