That is worse than I even imagined. When has Gus had a good offensive line? You have to start playing Ashley and move folks around because the center of the line is terrible, just terrible.

Against FBS (1-A), we are 14th in the league in rushing. Think about that. 116 yards per game.

Lot of bad technique. Real bad technique.

That’s fixable.

With a good coach and an off-season.

Oy....that is rough. And depressing. That State DL is gonna eat us alive this weekend with the jabrones we've got up front. Those guys wouldnt make a FCS roster.

Ashley definitely needs to play. Not sure why it took injuries for him to get in the game, cause he damn sure looked miles better than the rest

What are these morons looking at in practice for him not to get the chance?

That was pathetic. I don't even know where to begin. I did notice a missed blocking assignment on whitlow on the 2nd play and a couple of those were bad play calls as well. Brahms has no business being out there and Horton is not much better

I bet our defensive linemen look like fricking Lawrence Taylor against this shitshow in practice

Didn't someone say we don't go 1s vs 1s in practice? I see why now

Maybe that’s why Calvin Ashley looks better because he’s been on the second o line going against our first string d line?

Can't get much worse though, right? That was USM running through and SEC West o-line like it was a wet paper bag.

I played O line in HS and I don’t understand why our guys pad level sucks so bad. I mean low man winning is basic linemen 101 and our guys are sitting up and getting pushed around like they’re on skates.

I’m hoping that’s more of a testament of how bad Herb Hand fricked these guy’s technique than JB’s teaching. One can only hope.

Good info. I noticed the defensive lineman getting under our guys armpits and from there it's basically over. Our line falls back on its heels. Brahms literally got pushed down on his back by a USM d-lineman. I also played football in HS and never remember seeing an o-lineman upended at the line of scrimmage.

They would if we went 1st v. 1st. But then again, I bet these guys would be a lot better if they were getting beat up on in practice.

Year 6 under Malzahn and this is the talent level we have. Pathetic. I was wrong about Gus when we hired him. I said he is a "7-5 coach who can't scout qbs." Well turns out he is an 8-4 who can't scout qbs and OL.

Yeah lowest man usually wins the battle. A lot of HS coaches are encouraging their linemen to wrestle which usually translates well to the trenches.

Based upon what you said earlier today, this is our only bad line in six years. We have had pretty good offensive lines for the last six years or so, was Gus not able to scout good O linemen then as well? He actually scouts the o line well, we have just lost some really big recruiting battles on the o line recently. That loss to UGA last year comes to mind.

We all see the nagative here, Brahms and Horton, but there was some good in there too. Tega, Harrell, Driscoll, and Ashley looked good. The problem is I don't think any of them can play C. Its apparent that right now Kim is better than Brahms though. You can't have your C getting ran over.

Also I keep seeing Gus blamed and I get it, he's the man in charge, but he hired Herb Hand who is known for his recruiting. Logically it makes sense that Gus would trust his judgement.. Turns out Herb Hands judgement was as bad as his coaching and Gus got rid of him because of it.. 99% of this is on Herb Hand and not Gus.

We gave up 11 sacks in one game last season
Sit your arse down. Morons like you are the reason we owe this guy $49 milliom.

Someone refuted your point. No need to freak out about it.

That same line who got their arse kicked by Clemson went on and kicked Bama’s and UGA’s assses before getting their asses handed to them by UGA and UCF. I admit, it’s a mixed bag with Gus but that is pretty much how it is with any program not named Bama. 99% of coaches would love to have the success Gus has had.
