He didn't refute anything. The last two offensive line are the only two of which Gus Malzahn was full responsible, since the other were not all goods recruits. And in that time frame the line has not been good. Got better last year after they realized the poor choices they made in camp and played the grad-transfer at center.

And my last point, I am sure no one remembers this but I wasn’t a big fan of the 49 million dollar contract. I would have rathered Gus go to Arkansas. I was a big Brent Venables guy, but now that we have him I am not going to be a whiny bitch about it.

I hope, to the Dear Lord, these gaping vaginas that got whipped by the Southern Miss D-line, got called out Sunday watching film. Nothing quite like getting your manhood called into question, in front of your peers.

Auburn’s offensive line needs major, major improvement, especially at center and right guard . - ChexMix three weeks ago

I wish I had more upvotes to give! Boobee's mom needs to be on the coaching staff! More intimidating and inspiring than the over paid, Massingill using, Oops my IUD just fell out, Tampax buying, offensive coaches we have! They are obviously low T, and not focused on the job they are paid to do. Hell, go hire some: retiring Marine DIs to coach this bunch! They counldn't possibly do worse, and I'm sure they'd man "encourange" them to do better than the bunch that's paid big $$ to do it now!

Last years line included three transfers, not exactly the way to build consistency and unity on a line for future years.

Brahms, I said it before, he was walking around on crutches for months, I dont care if the bone healed, it takes months to build back the muscle in both legs, and thats what it looked like Sat.

How many offensive linemen do bama and georgia have in the pros currently, twice the number of Auburn. How many higher ranked recruits do they have on their lines, bout twice as many. How many do they have committed, bout twice as many. Whose line will dominate on Saturday???

We can preach playing time on Saturday, but when a recruit walks down that hall at bama and sees the section for offensive linemen that are hall of famers from Hannah and Stephenson right on down the line.....those recruits are thinking about playing on Sunday, and judging from our play so far this year...that road doesnt lead through Auburn.

I agree with this, however I think it's a pure talent thing. No amount of shaming can fix that. I don't think we have 1 guy on our line that would start for any other team in the SEC, except for maybe Arky or UT. The talent level is abysmal.

Sadly that's not changing until the offense changes. Gus is going to have to decide on whether to be a CEO head coach or keep going down the same path and staying the course until he is fired.

Hold the rope, Kristi. Gus can't scout talent. Recruiting rankings are fake. 8-4 coach. Can't adjust.

Willis will not play meaningful minutes unless Stidham gets injured. With this O-line, I am not sure Willis would be effective as we still need blocking to make the RPO work.

Stidham made enough good throws last week for us to win. He lead a great drive against UW to win vs. a top 10 team. He sucked against LSU, but we still should have won when he lead us to 21 points. The long pass was on the defense and then up by two Kim had two straight holding calls (Stidham also did not see a wide open receiver).

Good read by Matthews at the link. For your pleasure, I posted an excerpt of the article.

Recruiting deficiencies impacting running game

quote:

AUBURN | There are several factors negatively impacting Auburn’s running game this season including some key recruiting misses over the past several years. The Tigers current starting offensive line includes one graduate transfer and one former defensive lineman. Last year’s starting line included two transfers and one graduate transfer.

Over the last four years, Auburn has signed just 12 offensive linemen, which includes zero 5-stars and nine 4-stars. AU has signed just two Rivals100 offensive linemen over that period in Calvin Ashley, who’s currently the backup right tackle, and Tyler Carr, who left the program before the start of this season.
How do those numbers stack up against Auburn’s two biggest rivals?

Alabama has signed 16 offensive linemen over the same period including five 5-stars, seven 4-stars and seven Rivals100 players. Georgia has signed 18 offensive linemen including three 5-stars, seven 4-stars and five Rivals100 players.

It’s a similar situation at running back. Auburn’s top running back this season is former 2-star JaTarvious Whitlow, who was a late addition as an offensive athlete. The Tigers have signed six running backs over the past three seasons, which includes five 4-stars but only two Rivals100 players in Asa Martin, a true freshman, and Devan Barrett, who moved to cornerback this fall.

For comparison, Alabama has signed five running backs over the past three years, which includes one 5-star, two 4-stars and three Rivals100 players. Georgia has also signed five running backs including two 5-stars, two 4-stars and three Rivals100 players.

Auburn’s starting offensive line against Southern Miss included 4-star defensive lineman Prince Tega Wanogho at left tackle, 4-star Marquel Harrell at left guard, 4-star Nick Brahms at center, 3-star Mike Horton at right guard and UMass graduate transfer Jack Driscoll at right tackle.

The Tigers are ninth in the SEC averaging 178.6 rushing yards per game with Whitlow and 4-star Kam Martin combining for the majority of the carries. AU has allowed 10 sacks, which ranks 10th in the SEC.

Auburn has guys that were pretty highly rated out of high school. Marquel Harrell, Kim, Brahms, Troxell, and Sammons were all 4* players with Troxell and Brahms being high 4*. Then you have Ashley who was a 5*.
