You wouldn't have a say or vote in your new boss hire. The only ones that would have a problem with are people who get away with something they are afraid they might not now. Just like the workers that quit when a new boss is hired.

It sounds like Roberts had a complete malfunction and made a decision out of nowhere without consulting anyone or getting any buy-in.
He is receiving what sounds like heavy push-back from both coaches and influential boosters that don't want Cohen. The book on Cohen appears to be bad (not the right guy for NIL, not well liked at MSU, hasn't done anything impressive there, etc).
Roberts pitched a comprehensive "process driven" search to find the best candidate, and it looks like he got duped by a lemon in the last minute.

The rumor is that there is push back from coaches. It is assumed that it would probably be Johnnie Harris the WBB coach. She was the assistant coach at MSU, then her Head Coach got the job at Texas. She interviewed for the Head coaching job at MSU, but didn’t get it. I think most fans and people around the program wanted her to get it. Article in 2020 about this story
But it is a rumor and no one really knows.

There was a thread by a State poster on the Score Board this morning that said Cohen got their AD gig using a similar tactic - had a sympathetic reporter “break the news” that he was offered, which caused the other candidates to pull their names from the list.
Take that FWIW. Just hoping that Roberts makes the right call no matter who ends up with the job.
