IMO, which is just my opinion, we’re fricked either way and made a mistake in hiring Harsin in the first place. I’m probably just ripping the band aid off and moving on at this point in the game.

Do you not realize a rebuild is not going to happen with the damage inflicted upon the program currently and the perception of the current staff

You really need to step back and look at this program from 2000 ft above. This dumpster fire didn’t start under Harsin. It’s been roaring since the Tubs era. These big money boosters that everyone keeps saying we gotta keep happy gave us Gene Chizik who somehow managed to win a natty before imploding with one of the worst seasons in modern AU history. These same boosters went out and got Gus who despite year 1 success drove the program back off in the ditch. During that time from we’ve had ZERO QB development. As I’ve pointed out Brandon Cox was the last qb we had that signed with us out of HS and graduated. Do you see any big name stud recruit QB’s lining up to come here? No you don’t. You know who else doesn’t sign when you don’t have a legitimate quarterback? Big time WR talent.

We are 14 going on 15 years since the end of the Tubs era. The program is a dumpster fire that is not going to get any better by firing the HC In February. You think we are going to hire anyone worth a frick in February or March? You gonna promote someone from the current staff? This program is about to be buried for the next 5 to 10 years because we have bitch arse boosters and bitch arse fans who support this stupidity.

We are going to be about the same either way. No one is going to want to come play for Harsin and he doesn't want to recruit all in and hiring a nobody (in our current state) is still going to set us back a few years at least.

They would have to hire someone that recruits see as a splash hire they want to play for , that also wants to recruit and use the NIL. Then we might only be down for a couple years but I doubt they will find someone like that right now.

To be fair, Bo Nix did graduate in 3 years.
But I see your point and I agree with it.

JUST A REMINDER: The woe is me party is getting crowded over a bum HC that created his own circumstances.

People are so desperate to be right in predicting that we are the next Tennessee

Don't forget that it was these same boosters in the early 2000s almost cost Auburn its accreditation with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools because not only were they meddling in athletics, but academics as well. They basically called out the then president as a puppet of the BOT.

I need to go back and look for the specifics, but I know one thing was they didn't like how so many of the BOT had business ties. Jimmy Rane sat on the board of Colonial Bank (Lowder's bank). Another trustee did several million dollars a a year in business with Colonial, etc.

I also remember that Lowder tried to get the Plainsman editor sacked because of the number of stories about Lowder and his control of the University that ran in the paper during her tenure. But I can't remember if that was referenced in the SACS probation report or not.

Anyone willing to throw up 12-20 million dollars each year when the university comes calling can be a big booster as well. Put up or shut up kind of situation.

Granted over the history of the football program there have been some blunders from the PTB but overall they provide the funding in the background that keeps this machine running. You wanna go crowd funded? I don't think so.

No one makes the right decisions every time and our boosters and trustees haven't as well. But to say they ae some evil puppet masters behind the scenes is a little short sighted. Harsin also had his own frick ups all over the course of the past year. Like I said he's probably a decent coach but he is either way over his head, doesn't understand the job and culture here, or just don't care.

I'm actually tired of reading and talking about. I'm willing to give it a few days to see how everything plays out and either way I guess we will see what happens. I don't see any decision being some massive change for Auburn.

I'm much more concerned even though I hate NIL in how NIL Auburn gets rolling and if we are able to acquire talent.

Nice little - forgive them they are not perfect response. F that. This was so screwed up looked like an intentional sabotage of school and program and could not come from anyone wanting the best for Auburn. Period. No justification to spread the stuff they did. Anyone saying - ok, let’s just wait and see now. BS, whoever did this needs Gone! All of em! If an investigation is not opened on how all this was leaked to the press then shame on our school leaders they are weak cowards.

You seem hysterical, dude. Black helicopters flying everywhere.

I'd love for you to find out who it was that got Bruce Pearl locked down to that contract. Did you know that Bruce Pearl was one of the biggest voices against Alan Greene, LOL?

But yes, those exact same people meanwhile want to destroy Auburn football. They're basically Dr. Evil from Austin Powers.

Didn't all of this affair stuff originate from a discord server that involved players? As for the stuff with the daughter(s), those rumors have been around for awhile now.

ok. The boogey man is out to get Saint Harsin. He's did a splendid job. you convinced me. I didn't say we frick him over but no one is above getting fired and we have no idea if the "rumors" came from the boosters because no one has stepped up in the media to say this came from me. If he has failed to properly do his job then a settlement is the correct thing to do from the university. if he did the "rumor" then fire his arse with cause and be done with it, if he has fulfilled his duties as coach and they still want to get rid of him then pay the man what he's owed.

Like I have said I'm tired of the discussion really because no one has a clue but just handful of people what is really going on. Harsin is one and seems to be playing dumb to the media and is the only one that has spoken out some other person with knowledge spoke out but didn't provide anything other then speculation so sounds like a reporter spoke to another site in the article.

I'm not saying frick anyone over but the university also has to do their due diligence economically and morally.

It amazes me how the Auburn folk are so quick to just go after the boogeyman PTB. It is because they have had nefarious people in their ear their entire life telling them AU has booster issues, there is something wrong down there, meddling, etc.
You just don’t hear it when we are playing for championships. You don’t hear it when we get a phenomenal BB coach and make Final Four and #1.
They need that boogeyman to blame when things go wrong or not how they want. Can’t be that this coach is awful in every single way, can it?

Yall who are okay with not giving a guy barely a full year to implement his vision, are going to reap what you sow.

You're going to get exactly what you deserve.

I want to point out the AU admin and boosters could care less what us random internet posters say or feel. They do what they want. We are just here for entertainment.

Look at the situation. Everyone thinks coaches need a little time, but this guy has done everything wrong and is doing everything wrong. You have to recognize we will be in awful shape for longer if we allow him to continue, especially now.

He's been here 14 months. Can you outline what his plan is, which parts of his plan are succeeding so far, and what part of the football program is on a better trajectory than it was before he was hired?

We made a big mistake and now they're tasked with pulling the plug before the snowball starts rolling down the hill and building momentum.

I'm ok with letting this all play out because the surface stuff (keeping coaches/players and recruiting) Harsin hasn't been very good. We also just went on a 5 game losing streak and didn't sign a single player on actual signing day. We actually went in the hole 1 player.

If all of the rumors floating around are true then he needs to go yesterday. Either way from the surface stuff, he's done nothing to make me a believer.
