One of the three P's are the only hire I will be happy with. They stand out above the rest.
I can understand taking Patterson or Peterson over Petrino, but taking a Gundy (or someone else) over Petrino would show the lack of commitment to winning.

If we miss out on the three P's, I'll welcome Malzahn. He's better than Smart, Strong, or some of the other B list guys.

Gah, if we hire malzahn how long will our fan base and administration let him use the crutch of "trying to get the right players in, we're young, etc" before they realize he isn't the guy this time?

Yea, I agree, but I don't think it will really matter, if we hire below Petrino. We will not be serious players in the SEC.
Petrino at the very least should be a fall back plan, if we fail to get Fisher,Patterson,Peterson,
etc. Passing on Petrino for a "B" hire like Gus (if we fail on the big boys) would be another major fail by AU.

I don't see why everybody seems so down on Charlie Strong. He isn't my 1st choice but of all the plan b guys I like him the most. Krags left a dumpster fire at UL and Strong has them in a BCS bowl in only 3 years.

Gus is a good football coach. He would win 8 games next year with the talent on the team.

His team play's too much like Tubs teams for me. He's barley beating teams from the Big East.

FIFY. Gus will never lead us to a SECCG or a BCS game. Won't happen. Honestly the only thing that is good about Gus is his HUNH exploits Bama's alignment weaknesses when run correctly

Gus won us a national championship. He's the most balanced play caller in the country.

I think Strong is a good coach, but I don't think he can hang with the likes of Miles,Saban,Sumlin in the west.
We can have Petrino (A guy who can hang), so there is no reason to go to a any "B" guy.
