You have a coach that is fully sold on RPO which relies on QB decision making and he’s brought in two QBs that aren’t good at making decisions.
It boggles the mind.
It boggles the mind.

What I don't understand is how Hugh Freeze sees his QB struggling mightily with processing speed and doesn't adapt the play calling to shore up that weakness.
Freeze cannot be bothered to modify HIS offense. Way too much work and he knows best.

I’m starting to think transfer portal offensive tackles are fools gold.
It’s so hard to find tackles that mediocre ones get bid way up. You may just have to develop that position from high school recruiting.

Mater sucks. If the refs called a legit game, then our play calling is different and more run focused. JA has to become more polished, yes, but he has a higher ceiling than the JUCO QB OU plays. Yesterday was the type game where things click for a team moving forward, or the wheels fall off. Let's see how we respond. That game didnt hurt our goals.

Durkin and the defense let us down at the end.
Maybe. But they held Mateer and the OU offense in check all day. They really only gave it one drive. It was just at a critical time. Still we had 4:45 on the clock and had a chance to win it and we shite the bed.
None of this would be relevant if the refs hadn’t cooked up so much frickery, but as far as things within our control, we had a shot and we missed it.

I'm not sure if our line sucks or if OU is that good. It looked like our center and guards had never even practiced picking up stunts before

we owned mateer and had him totally rattled for 55 min of the game.
Listen boy, despite the shitty calls the game came down to two drives. When the game was on the line they delivered and we didn’t.

In a fair an just world those drives never happened because we were up 10 and the games were called differently.

Key word there is "they". Much different than boiling it all down to a single person/person. Neither QB was great yesterday but Arnold played as well as Mateer.

Fair point

I feel like we are better than last year, but the results are just always the same. Loss, loss, loss. I am hoping we can get Arkansas, Kentucky and Mercer - but 6-6 third year with basically no improvement is no bueno, and Hugh will need to be shown the door.
Only thing I don't like is we will continue shite hires, and I can almost guarantee they will hire Rhett Lashlee. They want someone who can be the booster's bitch. You can name any good up and coming coach (or for that matter established coach) and there is zero chance he winds up at Auburn.

I'm not so sure. John Cohen had some interesting names on the list last time - even though he hadn't been around for long.
The main thing is that if Freeze goes 6-6 or has two 8-4 seasons is that we do indeed make a change. You just have to keep trying.

This is where I am today. Im interested to see if this team will be able to put the OU game in the rear view mirror and play better. A&M is giving up almost 100 more pass yards per game and right at 50 more rush yards per game than Oklahoma. They arent anywhere near as good as the OU defense. Their front is good. Oklahoma's is elite.
We can definitely beat Aggy. Their defense, especially up front, isnt close to how good Oklahoma is. Our defense is very good against the run and Aggy needs the run game to open up the pass game for Reed to their weapons on the outside. Their WR, Mario Craver, is really good so it will be important to not let him make explosive plays.
I think we match up well in this game overall. Of course the penalties have to get cleaned up with all the false starts. Its gonna be another loud and raucous crowd. Hopefully they got all that shite out of their systems in Norman. As you said, though, it could go sideways if our guys cant shake the OU game move on to this one. If we go to College Station and get beat by a couple TDs and have the same penalty issues or Arnold still not letting the ball go on time...we'll, it will get very ugly very fast for the program and Freeze with the players checking all the way out. That's a worst case scenario with the schedule not getting any easier going into a bye week with Georgia and Mizzou (who looks legit so far) coming up after the bye. Could be a perfect storm for total collapse or an epic run on the back half of the schedule. Here's to hoping its the latter

The difference was the 12 sacks we had no answer

Arnold has his shortcomings but putting it on the line doesn't appear to be one of them from what I've seen.

The different is a true Quarterback Coach…
When Al Borges became OC and coached Jason Campbell, it made a world of difference. Meanwhile, Arnold has regressed.

Not true. That crew paid for the mistakes with their wallet.
When the league makes a crucial mistake in the implementation of a rule…..and the crew doesn’t enforce the demand to follow the order to implement as ordered. I don’t care how many meetings were conducted, the SEC ordered “THOU SHALT NOT RUN A PLAY THAT DECEIVES THE OPPOSING TEAM”
The officials paid the price , Oklahoma should pay as well. It’s simple to run the play, but, the crew should know what it takes to reestablish the receiver. It’s simple, but obvious to the defense, that the player didn’t leave the field.
