I still say whoever scheduled a neutral site game in South Dakota for the 1st game of the season should be slapped.

“People ask me why the game, why’d you take the game, why go out to South Dakota,” Pearl said Monday. “It’s real simple, just to try to stay relevant in the world of college basketball, which is harder and harder to do now.”
And the non-conference schedule Auburn created is one of the most difficult in the nation.
“It’s to stay relevant,” Pearl said at SEC Basketball Tip Off in Birmingham. “It’s to tell my kids a message, I believe in you. I don’t care who we’re playing. I don’t care. I believe in you. You came here to try to win a championship. You came here to get to a Final Four. If I don’t schedule hard, then obviously I’m concerned we’re not good enough. And we ain’t afraid.”

I hope this team is at minimum, entertaining and competitive. And the early signs seem to point in that direction.
Last year's team was pretty frustrating and football, while on the upswing perhaps, has been an absolute slog to watch.
Results aside, Auburn is overdue for a fun on court/on field product right now.

Agreed. Last years team, while genuinely a top 10-ish team in school history, was rarely ever fun to watch lol

I’m surprised we’re favored…. Kenpom has Baylor as the better team, and we’re dealing with some injuries.

I think it’s just a place both schools agreed to play
Meaning I’m sure several other options were discussed and nothing was gonna work out. I know for a fact we want home and home’s with schools like Baylor and they won’t ever agree to it
